Yep, totally natural "barking" - it means the feline's already thinking of what it sees, birds, squirrels, as dinner. Could say that's their "Get in mah belleh!" noise =P
@Marunette82 Cats are wonderful animals but so is other animals too. I love animals, they dont bully. Peoples are more of a wolfs with sheeps clothes but animals are animals. Also peoples hunts animals which mean we arent so kind but on the other hand it is a elinkeino . I am too kind for hunting animals, i hate to kill an animal, not born to killer (:
I've always thought of cats doing that to try and lure their prey. My cats make a bit of a noise that sounds a bit like a bird. Kinda like when people try to get a cat's attention by meowing or making other strange noises, you know?
Cats do this, usally they do this to sign to other cats that there is a meal, usally a cat does this when its with a group of other cats. Its like us jumping up and down saying "LOOK $59 MILLION DOLLARS IS BEING GIVEN AWAY!"
We had a cat called Tigger as well, he was a beautiful big Tabby who looked a bit like a scottish highland wildcat, built like a brick sh1thouse, but the loveliest cat to humans, hated other cats with a passion, sadly he disappeared without trace about a year ago now, I miss him!
aww my cat ricky does the same thing to birds in our tree.his mom (her name was Money) who passed away was a laid back cat that thought she owned the house. they were almost nothing alike except that they both left A LOT of nose prints on the window.
He's not barking - this is a word and it means either a bird or something else fyling, in the air - my cats use it for birds and butterflies, even flies... it means "something flying - I want to catch it" - I think...
Our Peepers will get in a chair that I put at the back door every morning when daddy goes to work looking through the window and clicking at the birds. She's been doing it for so long we trained her to respond to us no matter where she is in the house. It is now to the point that we can be anywhere in the house, window or not, and say, "Get them dirty birdies! Where's the dirty birdie?" and she'll get all excited and start clicking...it's too funny!
Haha that's funny! We can get Tigger to do this just by pointing at him now. If I do it enough times in a row, he'll yawn. If I point while he's yawning, he makes this loud maawwrrr sound. Cats are fun :)
Most every cat I've seen has done this. Its a sort of sound they make when they see something that makes them excited, like birds, flies, and other things that tend to be out of reach.
It's my cat Rusty! He's been reincarnated!!! He used to do the same thing with the pigeons on our terrace. One time, he actually ran into the sliding glass door trying to go after one, the silly rabbit!
Get an inside cat :D All 3 of mine are indoors only. Tigger gets to go outside every once in awhile, but only if I'm there to supervise. I had an inside/outside cat growing up and she used to bring in animals all the time too. Wasn't very pleasant, but I still miss her :(
because my parents wont let me get another animal.. we just resently put my dog down 2 days before halloween she was really old. she almost lived 18 years as old as me i had her since i was a baby and it still hard for me not to see her here at home anymore.. but yeah my dad dont like cats cause all of their fur gets all over everything and stuff i used to have one though b ut they gave it away cause of the hair situation but she is in a happy home
Aww I'm sorry to hear that you lost your childhood pet :( That's always rough. The cat I mentioned in another comment on here lived to 12 and a half years. She would have lived longer but she had been bitten by a snake when she was younger and the vet said that would shorten her lifespan. We had to have her put down when her liver started failing.
If your dad doesn't like hair, definitely don't get a rabbit. My rabbit sheds more than all 3 of my cats combined!
I miss my cat Midnight.... had a litterbox in the house at the most 6 months....then had her trained to sit near the front door if it was time to go....she'd meow a few times to get our attention!......cool cat :-)
Our cat Mopsy does the same clicking sound when she's hunting flies. I've had a cat for 18 years, and I'd never seen a cat do that before we got her (8 months ago).
Thanks :) He's a very photogenic cat and I love him.

My cats do that too.
