  • one of the best Christmas Albums. She released this one in 2001. Its my favorite Christmas record next to Bing Crosby's "White Christmas".

  • A great pair she has the most perfect voice in country music she don't have to strain to make it come out smooth she is very good with any song she sing's..

  • what a beautiful song. this came out before i listened to country music. i heard it for the first time on christmas day 2010. whith chet atkins how could it not turn out great. thanks

  • the casting crowns version is (for me anyway) hard to describe as a melody. nevertheless, count it at least the fourth "tune" if you will.

  • this carol has at least three different melodies and chord changes, of which this is my favorite, and the one i learned and play myself'

  • First time I have heard this. all I can say is WOW

  • LOVE THIS! I have goose-bumps from listening. Such a beautiful voice!! Just ordered the new Christmas CD and can't wait for it to get here!!!

  • bueymat-casting crowns rendition is great and will turn this song into a classic. I'm 55 and had never this song till CC did it. Merry Christmas and peace on Earth!

  • I love this version. I like Casting Crowns, but they did a version of this song that TOTALLY distorted this amazing melody. A shame. Most younger people don't know this incredible original melody.

  • I just love this Woman, It wouldn't be right not to mention this Fine Man who i think I can speak for all of us,, we miss you Chet Atkins.

i've seen Suzy 3 times, and will see her again in Portland, Me this Dec.

  • Eddy Arnold recorded this on his Christmas album that was released in 1962 and re released in 1967 with none other than Chet Atkins, W4CGP playing the guitar. Chet was also a "HAM" radio operator and now sadly has "SK' added. SK meaning Silent Key.

  • Soothing hope for sore hearts--thanks for posting this!

  • One of alltime favoirte 5 Christmas songs....In December of 2001, I played this song over and over in the wake of 9/11. It still gives me a sense of hope in this mad world.

I don't think anyone has done better than Suzy singing this.

  • great Suzy!!! Thanks for posting!

  • Voice like an angel.

  • What a combination; great singer and great guitarist and great old carol.

  • What a treat to get to hear this beautiful Christmas song by this angel

  • great song!

  • This is an awesome rendition of this - but if you really want to understand the song it comprises 6 or 7 verses written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow in 1864 - set to this music I believe in the 1950's - the middle two verses are very black, "And from each black accursed mouth, the cannons thundered in the south" is a line to get a reference. It is worth reading because the last verse stands strong against it.

  • Such slanted words against the South. But other than that, I love Suzy's version of this great Christmas song.

  • Still a really beautiful voice no matter what she sings, happy birthday for December Suzy, when are you coming back to Scotland? John Lawrie Edinburgh

  • Loved it Suzy that must have been a time to remember, thanks for sharing. Chet makes guitar playin sound so easy : )

    HAPPY SAFE HOLIDAYS

    BOB SALDANA

  • I remember when this aired!!

Love it now just as much as I did then!!Merry Christmas Suzy

    R.I.P Chet

  • Too bad that the bells have pealed for Chet, but he left some beautiful music behind.
