I love this version. The animation is so much better but why would they not throw this in with the DVD pack as a special set or something. Somebody do it NOW!!!!!

It was a special episode released on a CD accompanying Denki Daioh, the magazine in which Azumaga Daioh was origionally published. This was before the was any plans for a TV series, which is why the character designs, animation style and voice actors are different.

Some of the jokes in this mini-episode are from the manga, and were later used in the series.
