you know, you can kill him with any barrel, but most giudes say you need the steel barrel, and that's just because it's the only barrel that can bounce off of walls.
Very nice. I managed this a different way with the TNT Barrel. I stood away from Koin (Koin was off the screen) on this level with Kiddy and tossed the Barrel. As the barrel hit, I ran towards Koin, and amazingly, he died! I'll assume that was a fluke though...
It's my guess that the game designers didn't intend for Koin to be defeated legitimately without the use of a steel barrel. So I guess you can say both the TNT and the standard barrel are flukes, but they can be done. The problem is that every level doesn't allow that. The TNT can kill him with 100% accuracy in GBA (I can't do it in SNES, I tried), but if you're going with the wooden barrel, it just seems to be based on luck and some fast wiggling.
What's also cool about this level is that it has an exclusive enemy. We all know the Klasps in Donkey Kong Country 3 are TNT kremlings, but there are TNT guys that can run and knock you in this level. I guess they are hard to identify as a Klasp or a Knocka, but I will just assume it's a TNT Knocka. :P
But when Bazuka shoots him with wooden barrels in the back, they just break! Huh?
