  • "Geezer" shows all those shred-heads what´s tone, style and unique sound. May he find his place next to Jimi when it´s about time! Focking genious!

  • Awesome! He played it when I saw him last year and I was sat in the fourth row from the stage. What an experience. I personally find it funny, that he uses and abuses his whammy more than me, and I have a floyd rose.

  • this song always gives me goosebumps! youre great beck!

  • I LOVE Jeff Beck...I do not want to take anything away from him, he is among the elite and possibly on top. But people NEED to check out Uli Jon Roth's Metamorphisis...simply astounding.!! Even Beck himself revere's Ulrich.

  • shit, I 've missed my calling. I should have started playing guitar about 60 or 70 years ago, even though I'm only 51 then maybe just maybe I could have even half of Mr. Becks talent, but remember children he's just this guy you know, with enough practice and dedication you too can play a strat better than Hendrix. hah hah

  • Jeff really knows what Music is all about, from blues to classic etc.!!

  • Beck is the baddest 'lectric guitarist of all so called time mate!

  • Saw him perform this at the Molde jazzfestival a few days ago. He was awesome. Goosebumps from start to finish.

  • I'm Floored!

    Beck never ceases to amaze.

    I could hear Pavarotti singing.

  • Pity such a poor soundtrack. This is one of the most dynamic and lyrical pieces I've ever heard performed by a rock guitarist. It's breathtaking.

  • I can see a whole new field of pop and rock stars 'doing' opera.

For starters, how about 'Madonna e mobile'?

  • Spot on Otsugua. Saw this live in Melbourne last night, and it bought the house down.

  • I applaud his experimental side and love Nessun Dorma, but it doesn't work for this selection. The melody is too simple and the song is too short. The climax should be cathartic, but sounds weak on guitar... even on Beck's great axe.

  • I dont know if you have seen this live but it absolutely works in a live setting...this song is all about dynamics too and since youtube compresses the **** out of audio you can't really get a transparent idea of what it really sounded like...anyhow Ive loved this song for quite a long time and I was there when he played it at MSG and it was pretty successful in almost bringing tears to my eyes...if causing that much emotion is not successful I dont know what is...:)

  • perhaps you have your audio disabled?

  • @mcgurkryans A beautiful melody is a beautiful melody. Simple or complicated doesn't matter.. if it clinches your soul, that's what it's about. Listen to the album version... his great axe does wonders on it.

  • bravo maniacmax9x & blindowl56 and a decided "boo and hiss" orbital14....the other thing I might add to maniacmax92's remark is and in the parlance of todays kids, "you dicksmack" for even putting KennyG's name in the same paragraph or mere utterance of JB's

  • @golden9x

Okay you can still listen to Pavarotti.

  • Nice!

  • Whether or not it's your cup of tea, if opera is to survive it is greatly dependent on people like Jeff Beck to introduce it to the masses. People don't go to opera like they used to, look at the audiences now, people in their twenties are in a very small minority. Jeff Beck's choice to cover opera reflects his integrity as a musician and hopefully after hearing his music more people will go out and give the original a chance. As a classical vocalist, I am grateful for artists like Beck.

  • Jeff Beck is a rock guitar god. He has earned the right to put his personal touch to any genre of music and transform it into rock guitar magic. As far as I'm concerned he could play Old McDonald Had a Farm, and it would be a classic! PHENOMENAL ARTIST. KEEP ON ROCKIN JEFF!!

  • Luckily Its Jeff's choice and prerogative what to play . this isnt a Pop Tune its Puccini !

  • i adore jeff beck,....best tone and feel in the business today...but he's got to be careful not to turn into a kenny G of the guitar with all these renditions of lame pop tunes....

  • I know of no other guitarist who has the extrodinary talent, to go from fusion, to rock, the to classical!!! He is amazing!!! Ya, this ISN"T POP!!! MY GOD!!! you need to open your musical EAR a bit my friend, stop listening to so much commercial crap,it does damage your abilty to hear tasteful music. I wouldn't know a kenny G tune if you threw it at me... I think YOU are the one who needs to be careful... Jeff Beck has no worries in his musical choices, he just has WAY more !

  • to add; this was his final number and was nothing like the majority of his set. he is not, and never will be, anywhere close to kenny g. the set included jeff being jeff with lightning licks and impossible whammy bar tricks. nessun dorma isn't a lame pop song either, it's puccini and it's from an opera. hardly pop.

  • couldn't have said it better.
