Modern Dance "Heaven" by Dynamic Dance Company

The dancers are great, not saying they are not because this type of choreography is very difficult to do. I'm a dancer of 15 years myself, and going next year to get my masters in dance. I have to say my favorite part of this piece is the choreography. I thought it was very well put together. Dancers need to stay together on the last bit of the dance and there are some parts where the toes should be pointed and they are not, so work on that. Other then that great job

i really must agree with the others. This is a very interesting dance, and the choreagraphy is great, but it DOES NOT match the song at all. I like the costumes though! They are very pretty.

The staging is not defined in places and does not compliment the actual movement. I think there were good ideas in different places, and with a little more time it could have been much better. More original than a lot of dances, and I like that the movement was the focus rather than the music.

well said... yea the dance seems to be done with the inside beats. its brilliantly done. maybe slightly coordination is missing but then everything else is very gud. fab dancers and i like the choreography

this is my solo song this year... and it is nothing like this. its flowy on the flowy parts but sharp on the fast parts-like its supposed to be... i mean the dancers are amazing, but seriously, the choreography needs work...

Is it me or do they need a different song to match the choreography to make it flow better. And yes, I did take dance classes for only 3 years, so chances are I'm probably talking out of my ass when it comes to this. :) Either that or the choreography needs improvement.

they're dancing to the back beat. If you listen carefully you can hear the subtle beats. You're musicallity will develop with time...it shows that the choreographer has a finely tuned ear.

This is no way modern, i hate at competitions seeing stuff put in the wrong category. Have they ever heard of martha graham, or limon? Or horton? No doubt they are talented but it hurts to see stuff like this in "modern". the direction of competitions hurts art.

You are right. There is a little bit of African influence in the dance but that doesnt make it modern. Inara george, Martha Graham are modern. But this dance can't exaclty be put it into lyrical category though it would be more appropriate, because of the competitition vibe. But hey let's hope they dont do it again.
