Recall vividly getting ready for school in the 4th Grade - MTV (back when it actually played Music Videos) was playing a Journey video - my Mom and I sat down on the coffee table to catch the rest of video and all of the sudden both of us said out loud..in stereo.."Steve Perry is so cute!" LOL I believe the video was Whos Crying Now...he was a hottie! :)
I seen JOURNEY one time live. It was back when the Raised on Radio album came out. My G/F and I "at the time ", went to see them at the CHARLOTTE COLSIUM, NC back in 1986.
I see alota Hard Rock and Heavy Metal bands and live concerts back in those days .... But JOURNEY was in a class all it's own.
A real cool song, the first i heard from Journey on Radio at the 80´s in a radio show called Hardrock Cafe, thanks to Gotthard Rieger in Austria ,this man played one cool song after the other and we guys hoped to find the one or other record at a store,no internet, no mp3 , no cd,just vinyl, these were real good times !
@eric9164 Stupid bass sound?? Ross Valory is a monster bassist, great tone in my opinion, cuts real well. Don't even get me started on Steve Perry, he is a rare breed in this day in age. Nobody today in popular music can sing like that man. Perry was an amazing vocalist.
Saw Journey in Ottawa in '81 , there was a long rain delay they didn't come on till midnight or so, and they rocked , probably had a few beers waiting like the rest of us.Perry and Schon kick Tyler and Perry's ass it's just that Perry and Schon don't whore themselves out for every dollar and tv appearance.
man imglad im an 80's baby i got to hear awesome albums like this and escape i mean neil schon puts some guitarists from nowadays to shame... there drummer was no slouch neither
@trustjab I remember having my mom take me to Cavages and I bought the record when it was released. I still have the Frontiers original record on my shelf this day.
I'm 15 and this has to be one of the greatest bands of all time. Meanwhile I go to school (forced to become another brick in the wall like the rest of society) and overhear someone say they dislike classic rock- such misguided people.
@wildcat13579 they are brainwashed by the crap they think is "cool". Stick to ur guns kid and hopefully through people like you music like this will live on.
This is one of my all-time favorite songs from my teen years, and I love to remind people of this tune when they yap about how Journey is supposedly soft.
Neal Schon is an underrated badass.

I love this!
It's one of the better rock songs that JOURNEY made. You don't like this, then you need to be on the EDGE OF THE BLADE.

Steve Perry is in a class by himself. I love Journey but, there's no replacement for Steve.
cmarquez16 8 months ago 3
I have always said Steve Smith was a critical piece of this band. His drumming was a grounding force in this band.

This is Good Song....But Jorn Lande's Version much much better than this ;)

This album gets awfully close to being heavy metal in some songs. "Frontiers" is as heavy as they ever got.
