Fine instructions and explanations of terms etc. Are building roofs in other countries somehow similar or so different that only a Tradie would follow some of it?
Dear Joe, If I wanted to know where to buy tools, I would go to home depot. You tube is not home depot so I am a bit confused to as what you are doing? Are you priced below Home Depots? Am I missing something? I was looking on you tube to learn about rafter layout, not to hear you ramble for minutes about shit that I already own. Why dont you make a video of all the Shit your are trying to sell seperately, that way you can focus on the purpose of you tube, which is too teach and too sharE.
@davidbrianmay Dear David, in case you hadn't noticed, the world wide web has been commercialized for some time, like since before 1995. I know because I was part of commercializing it back then. YouTube runs ads over your video viewing for one reason: money. Seeing your comment about "the purpose of you tube", I guess you missed all the commercial content trying to sell things on YouTube, as well as all the ubiquitous juvenile videos with no redeeming content whatsoever. Get over it.
@cornflakesnwater Find the rafter length of different pitches, choose the pitch that gives you the least amount of waste. Say one has rafter lenght of 7'6, another has a rafter length of 6'10, using 14' lumber and the 6'10 rafter will give you less waste.
Great video ! Wanting to learn more about speed squares and framing squares. Being more of a boat builder. I'm more into the sliding T bevel. But, love learning anything about wood working tools!
I’m sad to post this thread, but Joseph Fusco passed away on May 18th 2010. I’m not sure of the details of his passing, but he had two stints back in 2007 and his passing was sudden so I assume it was heart related.
Coming from a building maintenance instructor the demo was very simplistic and easy to follow. Job well done. I shall be showing this to my guys for the purpose of their carpentry compentency. Thank you Joe.
