  • Original was from Moving Pictures 1981, I think its weird it took 30 years to cover but again Rush is a hard band to cover since Neil Peart is 1 of the best drummers in the world and only a few can sound like Geddy Lee...ohh and I also believe that Alex Lifeson is a very underrated guitar player

  • ironic how rush was my dads favorite band and machine head is mine

  • the drums are really out of time in the verse lol.

  • Best song on the album

  • One of the best covers of old school bands in my opinion, they kill this song

  • Anyone that covers RUSH and covers them well deserve respect in my book. Hail the mighty Machine Head!

  • It sounds so strange hearing Robb sing like this haha :)

  • I love how the bass line sounds here, pretty epic I must say. For having no synth (like the original) this is done rather excellenty ^_^

  • Did a fist pump when the riff started. They fucking nailed it.

  • Bonus tracks like this are why I always try to get the special edition of albums.

  • This is the song I play when I'm hunting for the witch in Left 4 Dead 2 :D

  • Now I'm going to listen the original :D

  • OMFG. I have just clicked play four times, this is so good.

  • Bass makes me grin like a madman.

  • i can honestly say this intro scared the shit out of me, and i like it

  • aw i thought this was going to be a misfits cover. dissappointed... and yet not. RUSH

  • Man, this ain't on my copy..oh well. Works fine listening to it here, thanks.

  • @BergmanMusic your welcome :3

  • HOLY FUCK SOMEBODY COVERED RUSH!!!!

  • I gotta fever, and the only cure, is more cowbell...

  • just think, a HEAVY THRASH METAL oriented BAND such as MACHINEHEAD actually picking a RUSH song to cover...just based on that you gotta dig MACHINEHEADS musical diversity and audacity, I love 'em!!!

  • Good cover.

  • It's good, but I miss that ominous chorus feel to it that the original has, otherwise, good cover considering the transition from 80's synth prog to metal

  • Machine Head never dissapoints when they cover a song

  • I love Rush and didn't really care about Machine Head all that much, until this record, which is pretty damn good. And this cover does the original song justice.

By the way... does Robb do the vox? I never imagined he could sound this good.

  • @25point869758 You mean the voice? Yes this is Rob. He's seemed to improve his clean vocals quite a bit in my opinion

  • It's okay. It is basically like a new song, which gives it originality. That's all I'll give them. I'm a big Rush fan, and I thought Machine Head could do better.

  • Not a bad thing but far away from the Machine Head standard.

Its strange how the original sound from 1981 is far superior to this here, especially the drums. Listen to the original (or remastered extended version) right afterwards and you'll notice.

And why is the snare drum so much laid back? I gets so incosistent at times it almost sounds as if Dave played some mistakes.

Don't get me wrong, I love Machine Head but they could do it better.

  • rush cover. word.

  • This isnt a bad cover but the dominant synth bit later is sorely missed.

  • This is a pretty bitching cover!

  • Not impressed :/

  • too overdosed from the first minute, i miss the dynamics of the orignal version. sure, modern sound, but for a cover of a brilliant song, this one is just mediocre.

  • I'm a huge Rush and Machine Head fan. And this is a brilliant cover

  • I'm a huge Rush fan. And this is an amazing cover. :3

  • The intro is as epicly eerie as ever.
