  • I noticed you have no floor joists (other than the girders). Are you having any problems with sag?

  • That looks great!!! It looks like a good alternative to most post and beam frames that i've seen, (as in simpler) but still keeps the integrity in check with a good look.

Great job! Any updated vids?? Did you use sonotubes for the foundation?

  • allot of 2x6 and 2x10s man that looks expensive

  • I got a great deal on all the lumber. If you were to go to Home Depot and buy it all it would break a rich man.

  • did you purchase or download the plans for this?

I have a chainsaw with mill connection and luckily I live on a 100 acre pine farm so I have unlimited lumber. I was going to build a container home but since I am surrounded by pine it would be stupid of me not to capitalize on it... I would like to build a self sustaining, off-the-grid home before I turn 30 since i am about to turn 27 it has kicked me into overdrive. So i went out and got a mill connection and now i am looking for cabin plans

  • You did a great job on that cabin. I like your method of pouring the footings into those pipe ends or buckets. That'll never blow down. Just a thought though, did you anchor it from being shifted by the wind? Maybe that's not an issue where this is. Again, great job and well done on the video presentation.

  • @186282plus1 It is anchored.. this thing weigh's a ton... I would hate to see the wind that will shift it. Thanks!

  • Are going to power that with some solar panels?

  • I'm thinking that will be a great idea!

  • I've thought about a windmill.. Havn't found one cheap enuff yet tho.

  • @BrantMooreBand

Make your own..Search the web to find the plans. It's not that well known and usually hard to find due to many a reason but you can use a gm/Chevy Alternator (for higher speeds) or a decent dyno with a barber pole styled or regular fan blade wind mill for harvesting the free wind out there.

Next you have to build a rugged slightly attractive weather proof housing for that stuff.

I'm looking to get OUT to the country permanently also.

    5/5 Good job there!
