In the British tradition there are two stews out of Lancashire. The Lancashire Hot Pot (upper class) and scouse (working class). My parents, totally at sea in Middle Class North America pompously made Hot Pot, but if the potatoes had softened too much or gone mushy my father would declare it to be scouse and refuse to eat it.
The working class dish was made Mondays to use up leftovers from Sunday dinner and was left to simmer all day whilst the laundry was done thus the soggy potatoes!
Those inbox counters make NO sense... I just kept trying to remove the Received Videos until the counter was right.
Subscription uploader names currently seem to only appear on the 'Full Detail' view, and not the condensed list or grid views (I'm sure nearly everyone uses the grid view, and it's probably the most preferred).
Ok, I have a new glitch. Not only are all of my subscription videos still not showing up, now none of them say whose video it is. There is no name under the video. Unless the video icon shows the face of the person who made it, I have no idea who it's from.
That one hasn't hit me yet! I have a couple of videos planned this week-one will be an update on new features/problems. I'll be sure to mention this one and see if anyone else is having the same problem.
What is up with the inbox/comments function? I can't delete messages sometimes; the 'msgs waiting' number isn't accurate; I keep dropping the server connection (not on my end); and it's just actng 'screwy'. Anybody else having similar problems?
I have noticed changes (deleting bulletins/modefying playlists etc) have been very delayed for me lately. It could just be a case of waiting for things to settle down after an 'upgrade', I've been having those problems for a couple of days now. I'll look into any information YT might have posted about it, and add it to the list of things to try and bring to YTs attention.

What's important is to grow the channel as a user resource AND a place to let YT know about problems that concern us. The more voices, the harder it is for them to ignore or discount us.

Once youtube decides you have reached the comment limit there is almost no way to get to a page where you can find the characters you need to enter to make more comments.
When that happens to me I open a new tab, click on a new video-as long as it's not one of my own videos then I get the verification box. That works for me. I know it can be a bit of a pain, but it's better than having to wait half an hour like we used to!
i also used to have more contact with you tube editors but they dont get back to me anymore either... i suppose they are so slammed with emails, they may have decided not to respond to most.. this is only the second time ive checked on this channel, but my thought is that youd be best on to get on with what you can offer as help to you tubers and not put much energy in hoping to get a response from YT.
I'll definitely concentrate my efforts in what I can do publically with the channel, and how we can use this channel as a resource for the community. I'll keep trying to communicate directly with YouTube, but that will only be a part of what I put effort into :)

Advocate this: A REAL block tool that will, once and for all, put an end to haters. MySpace has it, LiveVideo has it...why not YouTube? Ask that, and you'll be surprised at the answer you get.

If they hold the Advocate in such contempt that they won't communicate with her, then how do they view the rest of us peons.

Those of us that form 'communities' on this site are only a small fraction of the overall users. That is why we need to band together to stand up for ourselves. I'm sure YouTube see us as an irritation sometimes, but we also bring a lot to the site and it would do them good to listen to our feedback.
There have been some steps forward with the use of music on YouTube. There are some cases now when instead of having a video removed for copyright, an ad has been placed next to the video instead. I think it depends on the artist/company. It's a sign that some copyright holders are seeing the potential for promotion of videomakers using their music.

One setback is not a reason to give up. There has been communication between past advocates and YouTube directly so they must be aware of the channel, we can make ourselves heard.

Past advocates have had some direct communication. I may have no more luck than Heidi did in getting direct responses from them. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to keep trying, and even if there is no direct response it doesn't mean our views are not being heard.
I will certainly keep everyone up to date with any success I have with direct responses. In the meantime we can still be heard, by publicly advocating the community and our concerns and trying new approaches.
YouTubes interaction with this channel appears to be sporadic at best, but even if we only manage to get through to the staff on occasion-the channel still serves a useful purpose as a 'Town Hall' and 'sounding board' to pool our voices, share information between ourselves. By meeting in one place and adding all our voices together we make a louder noise. The louder we are, the more likely we will be heard-even when we don't get a direct response.
The channel stays the same, but each advocate brings their own approach. I know Heidi was discouraged by the lack of direct response to her emails to YouTube from this channel-but I don't think that is an indication that YouTube is not watching at all.

I love to edit films. I like putting the very best music I have to those images.
I with that music would be seen as "promotion of greatness" instead of stealing somebody's rights.
I listen to a lot of music, I listen to music all the time. I've discovered artists here on Youtube that I may have never discovered otherwise.
