Dragon Age Origins - Levels of Details Comparison - HD - PC version

This game seems to be pretty popular amongst my usual routine of reviewers. It kind of popped up without my noticing - Is it a shelf title going for $50 or $60, or do you buy it off Steam or XBox Live for closer to $20?

Dragon's Age looks bad to me. More cheesy D&D fantasy stuff. The most ridicules thing is they claim to be making a "realistic" medieval game. the armors are like Asian fantasy and the combat looks a a blend of bad kung fu and D&D. I'm looking forward to Mount and Blade Warband though.

There's barely a difference the higher it goes up. I just take it it's all rendering textures to make the game work faster on slower computers.

there's basically no difference in the graphics after you go medium on. And the main difference between medium and low is the more pronounced lighting/shading effects in medium.

Because i'm able to play NWN2 on my laptop with no problems, bit slow bit playible, and on the 'Can you run it' website i have more problems with NWN2 then i have with Dragon age.

I'm lpaying through now and it's such an addicting game. Nice comparison video. i just jacked my game up to very high and didnt bother seeing the differences.

Wonder if low would run decently on laptops...

Hrm, I think I'd play on the Low simply for the fact that it looked like there might be some color in the game when set to the lower setting.

(hates most next gen game pallets being dystopia brown and the like)
