  • I never saw this before until 6 weeks ago on Netflix. What is the matter with these stupid studos not releasing decent old movies instead of crap like Kill Bill (well, anything with snotty Uma Thurman) and that Resident Evil crap my boyfriend watches? This movie is charming and sexy without the overt innuendos!

  • OMG i remember seeing this years ago i must have been about 10 or something at the time brilliant film ^_^

  • Man,oh man, was he a hot one back in the 1960s O.o he creeps me out now :-/

  • @AwesomeAnonymously LOL, does he really look that bad now?

  • @AwesomeAnonymously Never mind my current reply. Just got a gander and agree with you completely. What happened?!

  • This looks interesting. Have to check it out. Thanks for the clip.

  • Blackbeard!! :D

  • Too bad the version of this movie TCM airs doesn't include Hayley singing the song, "Gypsy Girl" (also the film's alternate title).

  • McShane sure was handsome when he was young here--but I also love the way he has aged. He is still very handsome and has an amazing voice--better now than when he was this age. He's a fantastic actor.

  • Haley Mills was so cute....my granddaughter, kylie looks like her...and Ian McShane was quite a looker, still is!!

  • he was so handsome!

  • "Don't go yet."

    "Why not?"

    "I like talking to ye."

    Hahaha! Classic.

  • Also, if anyone here has a Netflix account, this film is avaible to watch instantly on the site! I've seen it so many times already lol I do wish they had it here in the US!

  • @adrix3ana *available lol

  • @adrix3ana That's where I first discovered it!

  • This movie is such a classic! An innocent young woman Brydie (Hayley Mills) with the mind of a child, and having no recollection of why she is the way she is. Then comes the brooding gypsy Roibin (Ian McShane) who can't help but fall for her tenderness and innocence and then their romance starts to blossom throughout. This is a film that explains a lot in the beginning, but the humor and timeless characters makes this film an instant classic <3

  • Nearly jumped out of my skin when the dog started barking. A great film.

  • WOW!!! I've never seen Ian McShane this young before!

  • @PeacenikChick I know right? I've mostly seen him in the Pillars of the Earth and soon in the new Pirates of the Carribbean! He was so handsome back in the late 60's lol

  • @adrix3ana He's in the new Pirates movie?!?!?!?! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPP!!!!!! SO TOTALLY GOING TO SEE THAT ONE!!!!!! OMGZ!!!!!!!

  • @PeacenikChick yes!! he's Blackbeard the Pirate! me neither i can't wait to see it! =D

  • @adrix3ana Deadwood is another great HBO series with Ian McShane. I watched it initially being aware he was in the show, but I ended up liking it altogether. I was happy to hear he'd be in the new Pirates, myself. Good choice.

  • soooo cutteee :)

  • It's going to be on TCM tomorrow. I love this movie and wish it was on region 1 DVD.

  • some 1 please put up the full movie!!!!!!!

  • @BornUnderYourStar go fist yourself .

  • This seems to be a good, poignant film from what I gather watching the clip alone. I would love to see it entirely but unfortunately the DVD release is only in PAL format which I cannot play in my DVD player since I am from the USA where dvd's play in NTSC format. Hopefully, someone will share this entire movie in YouTube soon.

  • @wowier Yes, this is a little gem of a movie, one of my favorites, made in color in England in 1966, a snapshot in time of the English countryside as it was then, and is a beautiful plea for tolerance... it was on YouTube but may have been removed due to copyright reasons.
