I loved this movie, even though I was initally irked that it didn't follow the books (it wasn't even in the right time period. Anne's sons enter WWI in the series, not Gilbert). It was just romantic enough to capture my imagination. :P

yes the moved the story decades to cover ww-1...4 years of total war and carnage...every doctor was drafted!...i was a tank officer in the army and a history teacher...the film was very mild showing wounded in a field hospital...that war was total bloody mayhem ...usa lost 300000 men In 1918(that is 6 times more than vietnam over 10 years)5 stars!
