luvstrixie, I agree with you that bigotry can't completely explain why Adam didn't take the AI crown. However, it is well known that AI is demographically skewed toward middle America. My deep South relatives voted for Kris bec of their comfort level but admit that Adam is far better. Almost any expert in vocal technique you can find will recognize Adam is a virtuoso singer, which makes him too good for the average listener to appreciate fully, esp. ones stuck on style over substance.
