It was low for only plate C cars to pass. The tunnel is heighten to accept plate F cars now. The project took place late summer, early fall of 2007. CSX wanted Corman to heighten the tunnel because they don't want to build anymore sidings on their lines and that Corman wasn't sure the QJ steam engine would clear the tunnel. Since this time there is no high cars even with the tunnel heighten. At least not yet anyway.
Today, I call the line is "The Old and Useless Road Sub" and the only reason RJ Corman is running the Dinner trains is because Ricky's profits are not high in Bardstown. Tunnel too low means little to no railroad activity. High cars are prohibited because of this very low tunnel.
I sorely miss CSX when they had the line. In the Early 1990's I saw 3 to 6 trains a day! A grain train, several coal trains, and a manifest train. A bunch of Seaboard System engines and CSX. Today, you would be lucky to see one.
