Symbolic Progression is an Order of the Arrow term. Basically, all symbols and tokens are revealed in a specific order through the ceremony process. Nothing in the Ordeal ceremony should be used in a callout - nothing in the Brotherhood ceremony should be used in the Ordeal process, and so forth. There are specific symbols, tokens, etc. that are all revealed in due time, but these should never be used in a call out ceremony because it ruins the air of mystery that we try to maintain.
Call outs are not supposed to be secret - it's ok to have them attended by the public and video tape them. This is why you should be careful to NOT violate the idea of "Symbolic Progression". If you don't know what symbolic progression is.. get a copy of "The Drum". You should not recite any portion of the Legend. However, one of the best call-outs I've ever seen! Just watch Symbolic Progression. Welilissit - Vigil 243
@konohahero These were NOT the "Ordeal" rather they were the publicly present Callouts. There must have been more than 300 family and friends witnessing this presentation.
When I was there with the group of parents watching the ceremony we were told only that "no flash photography was permitted so as not to distract the participants." No one said there was any problem with making this recording. In addition, I've found other "Order of the Arrow" ceremonies posted online.
Were they callouts or the ordeal. Callouts are fine but the OA induction ceremonys are not to be recorded. Also you cannot claim copyright on something you did not write or produce.
@Drumsinstopmotion These were the callouts. The only comments prior to the ceremony was that there be "no flash photography." I used only the ambient light. The portion of the ceremony presented was done in public with families and friends as witnesses.
The only copyright that I'm claiming is for the photography, editing and production. I make no claims whatsoever with regard to the creation and performance of the ceremony itself.

@edlacey Thanks for your comment. I do not know what "Symbolic Progression" is but will check into it.
I was never a Boy Scout myself so all of this is something I'm not familiar with.
