@massad1001 The Samsung Jet is a bit old now. Released over a year ago. It was decent for its time and I feel the camera and built-in camera software is still better than all the megapixel camera phones out there. Dunno why Samsung went and messed with the features and functions. Oh well. I keep my Jet as a keepsake and if I ever need a superslim pocketable camera phone I'll take the Jet.

Yes, my Jet came with a case. It was an El-Cheapo slip case that fit tighter than an ultra-small condom.

I thought it would look cool and perhaps allow the items to look better and not distracting. hahaha. Maybe I should say it was a tribute to MJ. Anyway, I didn't like the idea after a couple of hands-on (pun intended) reviews. So I ditched them now everyone has to look at my hairy hands. ;-)

Yes my box included a leather-ish slip case. It suck big time. Not worth talking about and simply unusable because it is ultra tight. Get it in and you have a tougher time gettting it out.

I don't think there's any other compatible media player at the moment. The phone supports Java so if you write something in Java it should work. As for black stripes top or bottom... the resolution is such that it will leave black bars on the side or it can be stretched to fit the screen.

I know that this as a 5megapixel camera and 5800 a 3.2, but beside that, what are de advantages of Samsung? I´m confused between this two...

If you want a pure music device then the 5800 is probably the better choice. You also have a more standard OS w/ the 5800 which means more applications. The available apps for Jet still needs to mature (grow more) but if all you need is email access, internet web browsing and then the higher mpxl camera and dvd quality video recording then the Jet is good.

Plus the 5800 is slow and boring, I have one.

I haven't listened to the music on the 5800. I believe though that most phones will do a decent job on playback of MP3s. The quality is mostly in the ripping bitrate etc.

Could you tell me if the Samsung JET allows you to choose your own background like the display background? for example say I got an image of my computer or photographed one myself on the phone will it allow me to make it my background?

Hello J4MM1, it is possible to change all three home screens with a picture of your own choosing. Of course choosing any old photo should be done with consideration for the icons and widgets that will sit on top of the background.

Note: The unit was previously unboxed (by me) and I neglected to put back in place an included slip case. I know sub-consciously I didn't return the slip case because it is almost useless. The fit is so tight I could barely get it in and then had a super hard time trying to get it back out.
