hey man nice video. ive been looking into building guns for awhile an i know the cost an construction of an ar-15 but i rather an ak-47 or 74 any day how much does it cost to build one?
@iSMITH4life once you have all the tools, it's cheaper to build an Ak than an AR. unless you are creating the recevier, ARs are really just an assembly, not really a build. With the Ak platform you will need tools like a 12 ton press, drill press, dremels, etc. I have a video about the tooling needed to build an AK. With all the tooling, you can get an AK kit for around 350-600 depending on the country of origin, and then a receiver for $100, then some rivets for 10.
@bfgmovies eh, I just want to know how to build the receiver itself that way you just have to pay for the equipment instead of having to go through an ffl or looking through gun shows. P.S. whats with the rebel flag?
@101crazys My personal preference is to have a premium, 100% heat treated receiver. I just like the rigidity and quality of them over the soft quality of flats. I know my FFL well so buying receivers has never been an issue with me. they'll transfer several receivers for a flat $25 for the batch.
but yeah, I've always loved the rebel flag. Part of my heritage is rooted in the south so it was something I always kept up. I may not be white but it's more about southern pride than anything.
@bfgmovies well, for about 100 bucks you can get an oven to heat treat your flat receivers. Then you can order everything strait from the net. (Check on that because I don't know if the ovens will properly heat treat them for that price.)
