No, they only fire if you appear to pose a threat to others. Which consists of aiming a weapon at others (Airsoft) or recklessly discharging a weapon (firing in public). If the weapon is even vaguely pointed at another person, they can and have opened fire on the offender. People have been shot for brandishing things that don't even LOOK like a weapon. If you brandish a block of cheese at someone and it looks like a firearm for even a second, you are going to get popped. Welcome to the USA.

In spite of the media coverage, nearly every department review of a shooting of this type has found it to be justified and the officers are returned to duty. It is SOP to place an officer on temporary leave for review if he shoots at someone. This is not discipline. They make decisions based on the best information available, and if that information appears to include a firearm and a threatened civilian, they CAN AND DO OPEN FIRE.

The new less-lethal tools are authorized for use on subjects who are not threatening anyone, but must be disarmed. Lethal force is very real and employed when a significant perceived threat to the officer or a civilian is present. It's a very subtle difference - it doesn't have to be pointed directly at someone, just in the general direction. You shouldn't even reach for it to throw it away.

Yeah i know but if you realy like it you should go for it. I recently bought a AGM Mossberg 590 shotgun from which Belgium and inported it to the Netherlands. It's a great gun. Quite powerful and accurate!
