there was just something that old game trailers had to them that got me wanting to play a game real bad.. just dont find that nowadays... too much exposure of the game prior to its release maybe?

I played "Invisible Wars" many years ago, and simply loved it! I recently played Human Revolution and that was great too. Only now am I finally playing the first of the franchise, Deus Ex itself, so I appreciate these videos. Deus Ex is a classic that the younger players should give a look back at.

hi, i installed deus ex, but when im in the menu or ingame i cant move the mouse. its stuck in the top left corner of the screen, maybe its because of my widescreen 1920x1080 monitor? any one know how i can fix this?

I was 3 when Deus Ex came out, so I have never played it. But I have to say after playing Human Revolution I'm thinking of adding another classic game to my steam library. (I think it's on steam)
@Bigmc712 It's one of the best games I've ever played, and it's definitely a worthy Deus Ex prequel. I like how some of the game's missions, tracks and characters are almost direct references to the good old ones from Deus Ex..

Don't get the dx:hr hate. Yeah, end zombie stage was a bit iffy and it was shorter than I'd have liked, but I distinctly remember abandoning most of my dx1 playthroughs before finishing because end level sucked, and feeling sad that it was over because I just wanted it to keep going.
I was amazed how many elements of the original were retained, it played way more like the original than I thought it would and I have never, in the last 10 years spend every hour of a whole weekend playing a game.
It *seemed* like they finally listened to the people who enjoyed the originals, but in the end it is nothing at all like the original Deus Ex. They did exactly as their Marketing Department told them to make. Make a game that sells, not to make an innovative game...
You can't project your experience onto others. Just because you are an experienced gamer and found this game easy, doesn't mean that 99% of other people find it easy!
That's the problem with "elite" and hard core and experienced gamers, to them Deus Ex was easy, but for 99% of the other population, even on "easy mode" Deus Ex is TOO HARD to play and finish and complete!
Deus Ex game developers are using EXPERIENCED gamers to test their
games, and then deciding what's easy, BIG MISTAKE!
A big step down the drain... that game was so so brainless that it made me want to break up the disc at points. Everything is highlighted and linear. Everything is made disgustingly simple so that even that if you are even mildly intelligent you feel as if they are mocking your intellect. The glory of Deus Ex was its complexity and deep philosophy. The beauty of Human Revolution was that it could make a lot of money by appealing to the mindless masses.
@sford605 I disagree... HR is just like the first Deus Ex. Same map, same multiple choice endgame... except for the boss fight, the cover system, the graphic, and the joypad support (annoying mouse acceleration) and the minigame; which dialogue effect outcome and the hacking game. It doesn't feel linear (it felt linear if you choose to follow objective); eg: at first map (Sarif office) I even 'played' a mini detective game where I hacked, explore, and read email to discover a thief.
@xponen but of course DeusEx1 is a good game. It is the only game that feature full freedom of choice and featuring the latest hi-tech graphic engine (Unreal engine, eg: the super famous Unreal Tournament engine). It is soo cool: you felt like a super spy.
I respect your opinion, but I could not disagree with it more. I won't get into why however, as that often leads to pointless internet arugments. I'm sure you'll understand what I mean :-)

I think the voice acting was bad, and the Dragon's Tooth sword made everything so easy. But it's one of the best games ever, despite some of its flaws.

Too many people focus on graphics... It's a shame really. Personally, I would much rather a game be released with an amazing story than amazing graphics. If they released Baldurs Gate 3 tomorrow for £30 with the same 800x600 graphics BG2 had, I would still march to town and buy it tomorrow...

I dunno about plot points. Especially because Human Revolution is a prequel. But I just got it recently and I've been enjoying the game. Once you get over how old it is, it is a really deep, fun, epic game. More than you would expect from a game made 11 years ago.

@bawenang i think The Witcher 1 & 2 are some of the modern games that i can accept too, it has a great storyline and unique plot twists, IMO its far better than Dragon Age (in terms of narrative and plot)
@M4Kpl Not really. Finished just one ending of Deus Ex (the merging with the AI) in 3 weeks. I only played Baldur's Gate 2 + Expansion pack twice, once with a Bard and once with a Kensai using the harem mod a.k.a. all romantic routes. Finished Fallout 2 in 2-3 weeks, and Fallout 1 until the military base. SS2 was finished in 2 weeks with normal difficulty. And still replaying Planescape: Torment now because I don't have the time to finish past disk 3. :D
@HBKANDREYROCKS Well, I was still going outside and hanged out with the guys while discussing anything from philosophy, politics, religion, to musics, chicks, soccer game, animes, movies, etc. Or just crashing in a friend's house while listening to his Craddle of Filth or Dream Theater CD. But still I spent 10 hours or more everyday in front of the computer. You can get to know lots of different and interesting men if you're a semi permanent resident of the computer lab. :D
@HBKANDREYROCKS And one more thing. Sex is overrated. You can just emulate it by watching a porn while jacking off or just use a blow up doll like Fred Durst did. Easier, less complicated and cheaper. You'll save lots on hearing the nagging, temper tantrum, buying gifts, etc.

@bawenang i think The Witcher 1 & 2 are some of the modern games that i can accept too, it has a great storyline and unique plot twists, IMO its far better than Dragon Age (in terms of narrative and plot)

@M4Kpl Not really. Finished just one ending of Deus Ex (the merging with the AI) in 3 weeks. I only played Baldur's Gate 2 + Expansion pack twice, once with a Bard and once with a Kensai using the harem mod a.k.a. all romantic routes. Finished Fallout 2 in 2-3 weeks, and Fallout 1 until the military base. SS2 was finished in 2 weeks with normal difficulty. And still replaying Planescape: Torment now because I don't have the time to finish past disk 3. :D

@HBKANDREYROCKS Well, I was still going outside and hanged out with the guys while discussing anything from philosophy, politics, religion, to musics, chicks, soccer game, animes, movies, etc. Or just crashing in a friend's house while listening to his Craddle of Filth or Dream Theater CD. But still I spent 10 hours or more everyday in front of the computer. You can get to know lots of different and interesting men if you're a semi permanent resident of the computer lab. :D

In my game your light is switched on with the F12 button. I cant see light, listed on the change controls screen.
Does anybody know how i can change it to something easier to reach with my left hand (Q or E button).

originally the main characters name was to be Adam Dentson (i know not denton) but then they switched it during the DELAY ¬V¬, they changed it to Adam jentson.
