What are you trying to prove here? Firstly, third world is not intended as an insult but it's an old fashioned term anyway. It has since been replaced by "developing." This is far from the first large scale disaster that Australia has experienced. Gallipoli, Fromell, Cyclone Tracy, ash Wednesday. 'Strong Dislike & Disapproval' is a better option for such things.
I see many reasons why Australia has such a poor image. They include rampant racism, hypocrisy, arrogance, selfishness & many other malaises.
The prognosis is not all bad for Australia. Look at the unwarranted pride they have for self and country. They misuse it terribly, but it can also be a motivator in their quest for respectability.

IMO we aren't arrogant, we are pissed off because the Govt bends over backwards to accommodate minorities, and its left the majority feeling as though we have no voice. Obviously I dont think you are inhumane and that you think ppl should die, I apologise for being rude .... Im just overwhelmed and crushed by these horrific fires and I cant understand how anyone can say anything even remotely bad about Australia and the fires while they are occuring now and so many ppl have died or lost everything.... I can hear the rain outside and I just wish I could send that one state across.

Do you realise that most of the people looking at this are probably Australians who are devastated by these fires! Maybe you would like an update... almost 200 people have died and they expect that amount to reach 300! And over 7000homes have been destroyed! Or would you prefer to tell the man who put his children in their car, went to his house then turned around to see the car on flames that his children were barbaric and deserved to die? ... We should mourn their loss not criticise or insult!

Pyromania is an anomaly of a mental illness and while those who light them are criminals and should/will be tried to the full extent of the law the majority of Australians are calling for those who lit fires (not all of the fires were lit by people) to be lynched and if they are found by the public they will NOT EVER be found by the police.
