  • the people who did this were a BUNCH OF FUCKING LOSERS.

It was literally a bunch of dirty, smelly, and ugly hippies.

These people are the kind of idiots who complain tuition rates are too high, and then go and do dsozens of thousands of dollars worth of damage to the university.

Good thing these people will never have any actual influence in society because theyre too busy being a bunch of stinky FUCKING IDIOTS instead of doing well in school

  • they bulldozed your garden (for now) . . .don't let them bulldoze your idea for a more sustainable planet with locally grown vegetables...good luck.

  • sorry for the multiple post i hate this new youtube look

  • 4) Ask the 70 000 people killed in the french revolution how great Anarchy is. The reason a bunch of Weird Hippy white folk like yourselves can do this is because you dont really have any consequences for it as our society allows you the freedom to express yourself. Anywhere else in the world you people would not survive

  • 3) A girl came up to you guys with an opinion that didnt match yours and you gave her the mature replies of "go to the bibliocafe and buy a drink" . you chastised her for trying to have dialogue with you and you wonder why the administration doesnt want to deal with you.

  • Afew points:

    1) if the land belongs to all the students than why are you occupying it illegally without the consent of the ENTIRE student body? Its hypocrisy and your disconnected from the student body

    2) I was there for this and why are you guys inflating your numbers 400 students?? more like 50 of you and thats being generous that did all the digging.

  • stupid hippies, way to piss off everyone at UVIC

  • the girl that made the speech starting at 40 seconds in did a great job... she made some excellent points. ( "We're disconnected from our food . . . we rely on other people, and other places, to provide [food] for us.") If I knew her, I'd give her a big pat on the back. Good job.

  • Isn't it ironic they're just costing UVic even more money by ripping up the grass? You left wing hypocrites need to shut up and do something productive with your energy.

  • Wow, Great energy guys! The points in this video are correct. Modern agriculture is contributing greatly to problems of biodiversity loss, stream and river degradation, greenhouse grass emissions and much more. A significant improvement could be made to the environment through urban agriculture expansion and in the future it must out of neccessity so lets make it happen sooner rather than later! Thank you for being the agents of change;afterall that is a key role of students in society.

  • Would you be proud of yourselves if, instead of at UVic, this had taken place on some old pensioners' lawn? What if it had taken place on your parent's lawn? If you believe that lawns are wasteful and immoral than you should think these are also legitimate ways to pursue your cause...

  • Yes. I would and I do. I have already planted a garden where my parents used to have lawn.

  • UVic admin ftw

  • I agree, this would have been useful and beautiful if the university had left it alone. This was a very useful demonstration whether or not you think so because it got people talking about the issue. Now we need to act about the issue.

  • 1. It's not useful... it got destroyed.

    2. It is vandalism... you are destroying property that is not yours.

    3. lol at you deleting my previous post

  • 1. it would be useful if they left it

    2. It "belongs to the students" and besides we are not destroying it. We are planting gardens.

    3. it was an accident :P I'm not used to Youtube. Please feel free to repost it.

  • @TheGorillaguerilla Hahahahahaha I wish you knew how faggy you sound.

  • @TheGorillaguerilla It belongs to the students? Haha, it belongs to the University... An ignorant crowd protesting does not "own" the University. Besides, if what you say is true, then the University belongs just as much to me as you, and I would MUCH rather lawns.

You have your right to protest, but as soon as you destroy property (or "plant gardens" as you call it), you lose that right and are participating in illegal activity.

  • @TheGorillaguerilla

it would be useful to the bunnies and deers that's it because they are going to get at it before you do

it doesn't belong to us it is the universities property you sense of entitlement is disgusting.

  • planting seeds should not be vandalism

  • Wow, what a bunch of morons lol! So happy I don't go to this school full of losers. Man, being apathetic is 10X better than this! LOL @ you!!! hahahahaha

  • omg! i dont think the people protesting are losers. they have a passion for life and health - they want a better world. they are refusing the loss of clean land and wanter. being apathetic is accepting the pollution and the destruction of beauty-apathy is just ignorance and negligence

  • I feel that this is something useful. The point we are trying to make here is not that we want to buy farms, but rather that every person needs to grow their own food, and that we need to use the land we've got, all of it, to avoid clearing more forests and destroying more agricultural land to build furniture warehouses. This was not vandalism; it was an attempt to reclaim this space in a peaceful demonstration of how strongly we feel about this issue.

  • that's harsh, fingers crossed for the next one

  • Good video!
