Not to mention this all happened during Disney buying Marvel and the show wasn't Marvel's or Disney's first priority. The crew couldn't get back together, so Marvel decided to make the new show.

Disney bought MARVEL. All of it. They own Spidey, X-Men, Iron Man, Hulk, Runaways. All of it. When they bought MARVEL. They also got rights to Spidey from Sony and it's studio Adelaide Productions, which was producing Spectacular Spiderman. Adelaide had no right to make the show anymore, ergo, no more Spectaclar Spidey. Disney could've just brought everyone over to make Ultimate Spidey...but went with the Ben 10 guys instead.

If The Animated Series is a 10, this is easily a 9.5. The executives at Disney have their heads up their asses for canceling this (either that or the Sinister Six really are real and paid them off to do it...).

First they have to buy the rights to use spider man and I am not sure if it has be renewed at a certain time or not. Either way it would not be cheap, two There have been many spider man cartoons who sold merchandise, most people/kids already have spidy crap so they werent selling products for it. Perhaps it simply didn't bring enough income to cover the costs to make it. I don't know TBH.
