  • If you've never seen one I urge you to find one. Go find an old propaganda film of some totalitarian government and watch how they portray great civil projects that are rebuilding their countries economy and providing for the people through the brillance of their govt programs. You won't notice any difference between those videos and this one. They are always lies, always underseving, always GIANT FAILURES! Smile for camera comrade and say "for the people", or your wife and children die!

  • Green jobs are tanking! Just look at that solar company in Fremont in California....bankrupt and being investigated the FBI!

  • @newalm Another round of stimulis anyone?

  • @Pomiferous A $500,000 freebee, courtesy of Uncle Sam!

  • @newalm It's to bad Uncle Sam is going broke. He was a favorite sugar daddy untill the funds dried up.

  • Take your green jobs and shove em up your ASS!

  • "SolFocus assembles its solar panels in China, and the new San Jose headquarters employs just 90 people.

In the Bay Area as in much of the country, the green economy is not proving to be the job-creation engine that many politicians envisioned. President Obama once pledged to create five million green jobs over 10 years. Gov. Jerry Brown promised 500,000 clean-technology jobs statewide by the end of the decade. But the results so far suggest such numbers are a pipe dream." --New York Times

  • Know this, that your power provider is most likely not going to give up market share. Thus you must demand they offer you alternatives at reasonable return rates. Net metering should allow you to sell the power you produce for what you are charged for it. And there should be no contract or time limits or restrictions on how much you can produce or how much they are required to purchase. You can't tell them how much you are willing to pay so they should not be able to tell you either. KWH = KWH.

  • Do any of you need to understand how your phone works or how electricity works. Of coarse not! understanding it isn't important. What is is that you all know we do not have a choice. Unless you plan on continuing to watch companies close, people be laid off and children be left homeless, you better see the future now and not later. Demand local grown foods, locally owned business, products manufactured in the US and alternative energy options at fair market value within the reach of everyone.

  • Comment removed

  • Most of the money being spent is being wasted and mismanaged. Naming education as the answer. I disagree. No one questioned how expensive it would be to run power lines to millions of homes or how expensive it would be to run phone lines around the country. But they were run and they did what they were supposed to do accordingly. We are now facing different problems in a very different world and we must see it for what it is. The cost of not doing it will be triple and cost us all much more !

  • I'll sum it up. Most of you haven't a clue what is going on in the alternative energy field. You believe there is a such thing as clean coal, safe nuclear power and if you educate people some how that creates better jobs for more people. Well none of the above is worth a penny if you don't fully understand and appreciate the real problems we are facing now and in the not to distant future concerning

fossil fuels, nuclear power and world economics. Continued:

  • ok tell me hippes and commies wtf is a green job

  • ok so gas is bad

    shopping at home at

    NO BAGS GREEN. c o m

    help me help you

    go green USA

  • Renewable energy is the way of the future, and has huge business potential. We are creating leaders in the field of green energy every day. If you have the spirit and mindset to get out in the world and educate people about renewable energy, you have unlimited potential in this field.

    Find me @fundgreenpower on twitter

  • I was a little puzzled by the "community gardens." Of course, it is good charity if there is no employment, but the labor hours wasted to "growing one's own food" can outweigh a larger, more efficient, "green farm." Jobs are not what is important, it is production from those jobs.

  • if you pay more for alternative materials but you save on energy cost in the future, does it cost more? That is the tradeoff!!

  • @tsuper52 That is called total cost of ownership, and solar panels, depending on the location, still can't beat not having it without a subsidy.

  • wonderful work. thanks so much.

  • Go green means lets regulate all business out of existence so we become a third world country. Haven't you noticed everything you buy is made in China because our manufacturing businesses have been regulated to death? China doesn't care about the evironment. You are a cheerleader for the demise of this country as an economic superpower and all internal and external enemies of this country love you for it. When our dollar crashes we will all starve. Don't you all realize this?

  • @showthosearches jobs are shipped overseas to China because they're allowed to do so, and because labor there is much cheaper (even without our government's regulations). why wouldn't you want clean energy? we cannot maintain the current system of oil-based energy for even a couple more decades.

  • @EliteBeave Communism sucks buddy. China ( a communist country) is lending us so much money they will soon own us. Do your research before you repeat what your school teacher told you. BUSINESSES SAY the reason they leave the country is because of regulation. Inexpensive pesticides banned in the USA are used on the produce we import from other countries. Why don't you ask your teacher why politicians allow this to happen? Answer - because our politicians have no problem selling out this country!

  • @showthosearches since when does clean energy equal communism? just because a communist country does something, then if another country does it, it's automatically communist? if China lowered taxes, is it communist? do your research before fox newsingly spewing one talking point after another. what "teacher" are you talking about? when the bush administration stripped all the regulations, why did we lose hundreds of thousands of jobs per month after the clinton admin added 22 million?

  • @EliteBeave Has the price of gold tripled or is our dollar losing value? Your friend George Soros knows the answer if you don't.

  • @showthosearches sorry, glenn beck. i didn't mean to tread on your theories. word to the wise: just because someone doesn't want oil companies to continue to run our politics and destroy the earth--it doesn't mean they're a liberal. despite conservative ideology, it isn't always "Us vs. Them"

  • @EliteBeave WTF! You are not for clean energy! You are for pulling the plug on the economic engine that made this country great. If you gave a crap about clean energy you would tell your muslim dictator president to release the choke hold on nuclear power plant construction!!!

  • @showthosearches the fact that you called the President (who i agree with on some issues and disagree with on others) a Muslim shows your unfortunate lack of facts. do you believe he was born in Kenya too?

  • @EliteBeave Those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it. Here's a question you will not be able to answer even with the help of all of your boyfriends at the bath house - How do people become slaves? Hint: don't dare try to answer this because your response will show the world that your head is so far up your ass there is no hope for you future slaveboy.

  • @showthosearches is that what you do anytime someone disagrees with you on anything? "derrrr you're a socialist communist homosexual unpatriotic traitor derrrr...." i was going to be nice.. but for now, why don't you stay in your ignorant, intolerant, racist redneck bubble with no one to tell you what's going on in the world besides fox news and rush limbaugh while the adults have conversations where we disagree on some issues, but always will do so respectfully and with an open mind.

  • @EliteBeave You are not that good of a socialist because thus far you have been forgetting to slam Palin. I will give you the benefit of the doubt that this it is out of your frustration that you cannot answer any of the questions that I have asked you so far. The reason people become slaves is when the poverty gets so bad parents will actually sell their own children to slavemasters. It is for their own good because rather than starve to death their children will be given free room and board.

  • @showthosearches ah.. there's socialist. which ones have you forgotten? i don't think you've thrown out the term "Marxist" yet so you're almost there. we've literally discussed (well I've discussed, you've just name-called etc) only one topic: the fact that clean energy jobs are the future, and that -- i'm still not sure if you understand this-- oil isn't in limitless supply and unfortunately we're almost out. from that alone, you've deduced that you're talking to a "socialist."

  • @EliteBeave Perhaps you don't know that your sources started saying we only have ten more years of oil back in the 70's. Don't worry the US oil industry is being shut down, the amount we pay for gas will skyrocket and the dollar will crash and you will become a whiny slave in no time.

  • @showthosearches not that i'm a huge fan of obama in many regards--but it's important to point out that while this administration's "stimulus" plan added to the deficit, it still makes up only a small piece. the huge bulk of the deficit was handed to him by the previous administration's 2 wars, tax cuts for the richest 2% of citizens only, and a huge pharma give-away. sorry to bore you with those facts. as far as me becoming a slave, i'll do my best to become delusionally paranoid like you.

  • @EliteBeave Attention all green job loving Obamazombies!

I have just been told by an Obamabot that Obama is powerless to stop Bush

and Cheney from increasing deficit spending at a faster and faster rate day by

day. As we speak Obama is trying to put the brakes on driving this country into

bankruptcy but Bush and Cheney are forcing him to put his foot on the

accelerator! What are we to do? Will slamming Palin and Glenn Beck help?

15 trillion spent so far and still no green jobs!

  • @EliteBeave ABUNDANCE OF GREEN JOBS TO BE HAD IN ABOUT ONE YEAR!!!!

With our dollar continually devaluating at a faster and faster rate, within about a year it will become worthless paper. Hundreds of thousands will be needed to plant not trees... they will be needed to plant the bodies of our deceased seniors who will no longer be able to purchase neccesary prescription medication. Only then will EliteBeave and his brethren be in their glory.

  • @showthosearches wow.. this ignorant paranoid redneck is still going. must be glenn beck just ended.

  • @EliteBeave Silver has gone from 4 dollars an ounce to 30 dollars an ounce very quickly, When silver hits 1000 dollar an ounce the dollar will be worthless paper and you will become a slave for room and board and clean energy will be the last thing you care about. Obama will never ever, never ever, never ever, never ever, never ever, never ever, never ever, never ever, never ever stop increasing our budget deficit because he needs to bankrupt this country to FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORM IT!

  • GO ASK SPAIN VAN??????????

  • Green jobs fail. google "Chinese Wind farm in Texas"

  • Please save us from Van Jones and lets starts producing things that America can buy at the store. Our economy runs on gas, not solar or wind. Lets start by making it easier for the farmers to get water. Without water crops do not grow. People in big cities are not going to start farming. They are busy working for a living.

  • @Aprilmax010 gas won't last forever.

  • @EliteBeave Gas will last forever, if we keep finding more deposits and we are not allowed to drill and get it out of the ground. We need to develope other resourses before we stop producing oil. Growing crops to for oil is not the answer as it takes away from producing food. Texas is already experienceing rolling blackouts due to lack of electricity. We have stopped drilling for oil in many areas. What do you think our country will look like in 10 years if we keep on the course?

  • @EliteBeave Obama has said that energy prices will necessarily skyrocket. Economist want the price of gas in the USA to be the same as Europe. What will your budget look like when your gas bill for your car doubles? And the electricity and gas for my home doubles? Have you really thought the consequences of this green policy thru? Are you counting on Obama to give you a raise? LOL!

  • Hmmm, Green Jobs? Wait, isnt that the job that results in the loss of 2 actaul jobs? Boy, that'll sure stimulate the economy.

  • Get outta My pocket you Damn liberals.

  • Comment removed

  • ask Spain how they like their "green jobs"

  • how do they funds??? im a urban farmer..i would love to start something like that in my area..but im broke..we have a similar orgiznation in my area i checked it out once but i was not allowed inside because i wasent from that niebhorhood.

  • GREEN OUTSIDE IS RED ON THE INSIDE

  • RESEARCH CLIMATE GATE

  • how do u go about getting training, also the Guy in the Van, i also feel the same, and feel as though more Organic food opportunities Like markets, also Organic food Resturants, thanks for your help

  • how can i get involve, start a organic green opportunities thanks

  • Green jobs FAIL.

  • @the82spartans I don't see how jobs, let alone jobs that are good for the environment, is fail. I suggest you stop talking about things you know nothing about.

  • @djxtermination: so were are these so called 'green' jobs? Do they exist like pixies and unicorns in the minds of people like you?

    My orignial comment stands.

I suggest you mind you're own business.

  • the left wing has lied about nuclear power forever, they hate it. nuclear power is one of the best things man has ever invented

  • @Gen0cideMachinex138 How have we lied? most of us don't like Nuclear power because it's not renewable. Regardless of how safe and clean nuclear power is, WE NEED RENEWABLE ENERGY!

  • van jones is a nazi fuck.

global warming and go green is all a fucking LIE! WAKE UP PEOPLE! they dont give a fuck about you or anyone else they only care for themselves and all they want is your money!! im all for keeping the earth clean but this is a government takeover, and if you cant see it then your blind. tens of millions of ppl in 3rd world countries are denied electricity that would greatly improve their lives all because of this lie that c02 is bad for the enviroment.

  • @Gen0cideMachinex138 you sound like the crazy guy on the corner shouting conspiracy theories at everyone. Regardless if man-made global warming is real or not green jobs can only help our economy. I fail to see how jobs and cheaper energy is a bad thing. Going green can save YOU money, so how are you putting that money in the government's hands?

  • Hi all!

Is it possible to have de lyrics of this video?

I need to transcribe for my university ( from France) Thank you so much!

  • GREEN is the new RED...

    Epic FAIL!

  • hahaha SO true

  • @schlepinsky , wrong. Green if pre packaged investment opportunities by uncreative financial hawksters, like the ones on Wall Street will fail. The facts are that organic, and green power systems have always been profitable. I'm in the energy business, started in traditional side, and I'll tell you that 95% of people have 0% understanding of energy and maybe 0.5% know what the energy business really is.

  • @maceoremy My car and everyone else car that I know runs on gas. We need to drill for oil! Growing ethenal takes away from farmland and cause the price of food to go up. This green job thing is not for most people. We need to look at reality here.

  • Dr Green Thumb, You can stay in green jobs in the green waste department!

  • Clean Reactors as in France..say 40 of them=cheap clean safe energy! loosen the grip of the power monopoly on the US=cheap power=lower overhead=competitive buisness's=job's! China blasting millions of tons waist in to the air! un-regulated and taking our jobs! I think most want to be green little by little and not shoved at us at the cost of poverty

  • Marxist asshole

  • Van Jones is a communist. He knows nothing about the economy or the environment.

  • @jeffmagic32 I have a feeling you know nothing...period. I doubt you even know what communism is. Go cry to mommy you poor pathetic person.

  • @djxtermination

I know full well what communism is and the horror that it can bring to a nation. Van Jones should be shunned by all respected people for his horrific political views.

  • Green workers are taxpayers, too.

  • Green Jobs?! Are you kidding me? This is a farce.

Someone tell me what a "Green Workers" job is? To regulate the rest of us to death!

And who's going to pay for these Green Jobs? That's right, the TAXPAYER.

You want to ensure you have a job when you're done with college? Be COMPETITIVE. Find your own damn job! Don't make the rest of productive society fund your little environmental fantasy.

We are a nation of babies whining to the government to take care of us!

  • AMEN! Ask Spain's citizens how they like it. It costs 2.3 jobs for every 1 green job. And energy is expensive.

  • stfu

  • That's some wonderful communication skills you've got there. Try taking Speech 1101 at your local government run college.

  • Going green is important. Unfortunately though, it is run by very hardcore left-wingers who feel that the only way to achieve their goals is through government regulation

That doesn't mean free marketeers can't provide a little competition and come up with more efficient and better solutions for the environment

  • You make a good point, Takadi. There is nothing wrong with find "green" alternatives - as long as they are competitive in the market place and people aren't forced to use them. Unfortunately, a key part of the green movement seems to be government mandates.

  • So you are saying that we should also cut the federal incentives for Oil and Nuclear, because at the moment there are more incentives to produce oil, coal, and nuclear fuels which is a gross injustice to our PLANET.

  • Absolutely not! There are not enough incentives to get the valuable stuff out of the ground in the USA now! Many, on both sides of the isle, for some reason are opposed to nuclear for rather ill-informed reasons. I happen to believe nuclear power is the future. Hey, France has caught on to it.

I happen to believe that the earth [and the earth's resources] are a gift from God to us so that we may be good stewards of it. Taking advantage of these resources is in no way an injustice.

  • Unfortunately, much of the corporate world has, historically and consistently, committed acts that undermine the interests and safety of it's employees, the environment and the rest of us. Sometimes it is unintentional while at other times - intentional. Often there is a resistance to rectifying the situation, making it necessary for the government to create regulations, enforce them and hold these entities accountable for their actions or inaction. There is some good that comes from regulation.

  • I don't think the taxpayers, who you claim to care about so much, are too enthusiastic about subsidizing and bailing out the Wall Street robber barons that got away with what they got away with. In the U.S., the largest recipients of welfare have (always) been corporations, not the working class or poor. No one whines more often, or louder, than these corporate crooks. "There's class warfare, all right, but it's my class, the rich class, that's making war, and we're winning." - Warren Buffett

  • Considering the substantial amount of food they were growing on a relatively small plot of land, combined with the demographics of their main clientele, this would certainly allow them to sustain their operation and be profitable without any taxpayer subsidies.

  • Myth: The world economy can be remade by reducing trade and relying on local production and reduced consumption without dramatically decreasing our standard of living.

Reality: History shows that nations cannot produce everything their citizens need or desire. People and firms have talents that allow specialization that make goods and services ever more efficient and lower-cost, thereby enriching society.

  • Myth: Government mandates are a substitute for free markets.

Reality: Companies react more swiftly and efficiently to the demands of their customers and markets, than to cumbersome government mandates.

  • Myth: Imposing technological progress by regulation is desirable.

Reality: Some technologies preferred by the green jobs studies are not capable of efficiently reaching the scale necessary to meet today's demands and could be counterproductive to environmental quality.

  • This needs to be done in all cities.

  • This makes more sense to me than anything I've ever seen.

  • More jobs to create green jobs will use more polluting energy and destroy us faster. The better plan to solve all the world problems is remember: the goal in life is not employment, that caused the world problems. The goal is a retirement lifestyle creating a garden paradise with trees, plants and animals that give fresh food around us for a healthy life with no pollution, energy crisis, war, global warming fears. We do not want jobs, we want true freedom. It is sustainable forever.

  • What? How can you retire if you didn't work? We can't go backwards and pretend like the industrial revolution didn't happen-it did and so now what? We work on fixing the problems we caused and if that is a "job" then all the better.

  • she didn't say not work, she said prepare for the future from the beggening. Like planting a fruit tree when your ten so that when you arrive at 30 you have a 20yr old fruit producing tree, duhhhh

Lets go back to the garden of eden, and lets do it together.

  • Dude-you did not get what I said. Read my other comment.

  • Look MarieDevine's comment doesn't make sense-"more jobs to create jobs will use more polluting energy and destroy us faster"-it is simply not true. If every person takes RESPONSIBILITY for their lifestyle and can decrease their carbon footprint-all those little changes that everyone makes equals a big change overall. It is just logic.

  • Great stuff!

  • YOU believing the 'money delusion' creates poverty and perpetuates the idea that GW Bush is a more valuable person than ANYONE who will watch this video.

  • Economic development and restoring nature...awsome job! Keep up the great work GreenJobs!

  • The incandescent light police will be the first of his green-collar jobs. They will be a subgroup of his larger Green Gestapo. They will cruise around at night in their electric cars pointing an incandescent light detector into the windows of houses with suspicious looking light emissions. Violators will be ticketed, and sent to an environmental retraining training camp for up to one year. Their will no longer be any tolerance for people bent on destroying the Earth. Obama 08! Yes we can
