Eddie was an integral part of my childhood. His singing went right to my heart and I used to wish that I was him. I sang his songs a thousand times with my father who played the piano. This is a major loss. He had the purist voice of all time and when I hear it on these videos I am transported to myself as a child singing my heart out. He was better than all the others. I am very sad.
The title of this song takes on a new poignancy this morning with the news that Eddie has died, aged 82. Thank you for your music, which will always be there on disc and video for our continued enjoyment.
