Okay i had a flipper when i was fifteen, because i was in a car crash and lost my four upper front teeth and broke my jaw. It was traumatizing and humiliating to go to high school with my teeth missing at that age, so my family bought me a flipper for my birthday one week later, rather than spending money on other gifts. I think flippers are acceptable in THOSE kind of cosmetic situations, even though it was still embarassing, but for children who arent SUPPOSED to have teeth? ridiculous.
