  • Cool video.

A lot of scented candles today are made of soy, that's why they're soft. Also, you can wrap the outside of the shell with 3'' painters tape just prior to filling then just take the tape off.

  • @JohnLeePedimore painters tape, great idea and thanks for watching.

  • you dont put wax slugs or cut shells in the mag tube

  • @metisman100 thanks for the info.

  • I used finger and toe nail clippings inside the wax very powerful and gross...

  • @nalBleeding wow that's different....

  • Epic looking shotgun !!

  • @Matttodd21 thanks for watching.

  • As the popular "coined phrase" goes, necessity is the mother of invention. With that said, I think when I try this out, I'm going to attempt to cut out just the folded top portion leaving the rounded edge at the top. And then stop refilling at the same point. Might help reduce feeding issues...Thanks for sharing!

  • @pock8size let me how that works out.

  • Try shooting at hard objects. I think you'll be impressed. You should think of these more as breaching rounds than a slug. I had good results using crayons too. Hi from central Cali.

  • @taofledermaus I saw those vids you posted. They were great. I wonder what, if any difference there is between crayon wax and paraffin wax...

  • @pock8size I haven't tried paraffin, but it seems harder than most candle waxes. I did notice different hardnesses and densities between different candles. The crayon wax was denser and harder than the candle wax and always settled on the bottom when it cooled. The straight candle wax DID work fine for me but it wasn't hot outside either.

  • @taofledermaus hmm good tip, maybe i'll try that. thanks for watching.

  • Masking tape or using a paper plate as a funnel will solve the spillage issue.

  • @ByRecentDesign thanks for the tip

  • Like the video. I did the same thing with some bird shot I had for my 12 gauge. I ended up making sure the cut off tops were nice and even and all the same length, which actually makes work a whole lot smoother. Get all eight shells off within a few seconds with no feeding problems.

  • thats great bro, glad they worked.

  • very nice. looks like a fun day out shooting.

  • Nice job with those! I used to do that when I was younger, but we didn't cut the tops off; we just pried them open, loaded them with wax, folded them closed again, and then shot them. Fun times for sure!

  • ok bro, i see they work, but why paraffin slugs? cool idea but i am curious about the properties and why? cool vid

  • @auradud3 because slugs are about 1 dollar a shell or your can get 100 birdshot shells for 20 bucks and do this with them to make them do about same damage as a slug

  • @onlyonejr420 yeah i thought so, my concern is does any of the paraffin stay in the barrel?

  • @auradud3 no paraffin stays in the barrel. it looks like it cleaned and shine it up. i know certain paraffin wax will coat and prevent moisture from penetrating. i also believe it's used on surfboards.

  • @auradud3 well as stated here the cost is first and about the properties, i just did what another youtuber did, but i did notice the difference in paraffin vs other wax. paraffin becomes a harder material, it will hold together as it travels out the barrel and i'm not sure if it's due to it being oil based but i'll see if i can find out more.

  • Hey, those orange and red targets look familiar. If you ever need any more, liet me know. My brother gave me 3 rolls of them. I'm glad the slugs worked brother.

  • @gunnwild1 yup i had not used the target since then, lol
