its funny all you guys care about is the horsepower, ya 290-320 stock, but the torque on this motor is like 450 plus, thats what gets these ta,s movin!

Had a buddy in High School who had a cherry '77 TA Metallic Blue with white buckets, 400 4 speed. remember doing nasty burnouts with that thing. These cars had character. They don't make em like this anymore.
yeah they said it had 290 hp to keep insurance prices down by 1973 the goverment was really trying hard to suppress muscle cars i think it had over 400 close to 500 but i thought the sd was only made in 73

come race my iroc and well see which car is tougher see irocz-1.mpg,-2,3,4.mpg videos and see what a stroked 383 cu. inch over 500 h.p all street legal iroc looks and sounds like,let me know what you think.

cause i am getting a z06 i sold the iroc to my friend yesterday. I ve owned 6 1978 ws6 y72,4 speed trans ams and i loved them very much but newer is better thats why im buying a 06 or 07 z06

No it wasn't close to 500. Had a little more than 290 but not closr to 500. Friend of mine had his dynoed, it was 300 something at the reqar wheel.

More along the line of 425 hp @ 5600 if GM woulda rated it properly...
Everyone raced the SD with the '70 chevelle with 450 hp,,,,not the 71 425 hp with the lower CR..........Now that would be a race to bet on !!!!!!!!!
