Well done, but is better to convert old batteries to Alum-water solutions, so you need no more dangerous Acid anymore ! Look into my videos copoed from youtube user Mixcatcom for the car battery conversion to alkaline Alum solution. Then you can also remove all the shortcircuiting lead particles at the ground of the batteries and clean the whole cells out before refilling with ALum-water solution.

Good for emergency battery power when none are available but just bad ones.
Are you using car batteries for your solar? If yes then they will die very fast ,but am sure you know that.
