Episode I is a massive failure on all levels. Not even from a Star Wars standpoint, just from a basic moviemaking standpoint. They're poor films regardless of the fact that they tainted the Star Wars saga. No protagonist, bad dialogue, rushed and poorly thought out character decisions, undeveloped characters with zero development, etc etc. It was mostly an excuse to make Lucas more money, same with every subsequent re-re-re-re-re-re-release.

You have an interesting point. I feel that you are bother by the Star Wars - prequals. I suggest that you get over it and don't include them in the Star Wars - saga. For example: I didn't like Terminator 3; The Rise of the Machines so i don't count that in the Terminator - timeline. Just a thought.

As a Star wars Fan I have seen all the movies 1-6 the whole way through including the 1997 special editions of 4-6 in theaters I completely disagree with Lucas re-releasing eps 1-3 in 3D mainly because it is not going to work. Why it is not going to work is because James Cameron said that that it has to be shot in 3D at the start and based off of that I suspect the 3d versions of Eps 1-3 are going to look like shit because they were not shot in 3D to start with.

I'm sort of glad my dad is a sci-fi geek who got me into Star Wars before The Phantom Menace came out. I was, like, 1 or 2 years old when my dad first showed me the original 1977 Star Wars movie, and I loved it.
After all, The Phantom Menace wasn't pure shit, but it was flawed in many ways. I would personally give it a 5 out of 10.
ESB - nothing, really; unless you count the "updated" special effects
ROTJ - either the Ewoks (who while I did not hate 100%, but I felt were forced in to the story), or replacing Sebastian Shaw with Hayden Christensen in the re-release
TPM - travelling through the core of Naboo (planets have layers)
AOTC - pretty much everything

I am a big Star Wars fan but George Lucas really needs to stop. I prefer the Star Wars video games over the movies now because at least the video games tell a new story and a let you see much more things in the Star Wars universe. It gets really boring seeing the same movies released over and over again. Episode 1 Sucks, Episode 2 meh, Episode 3 is okay.

Star wars episode 3 was pretty good, I really enjoyed that, he ruined the scariness of Darth Vader and made him a tragedy which is pointless. Im glad George has retired lets hope after these 3d releases he stops milking the blood from this cash cow (yes i said blood, the milk ran dry ages ago).

I realized recently that George Lucas is a terrible director. Literally, he has been riding the success of his two series. Indiana Jones, I love all 4 (4th and 2nd ones a little less but they're still fun). Star Wars I like Episode 3 onward. But yeah, he didn't even direct the one that people love the most, Empire Strikes Back. I'm glad that he recently has tried to make a new movie with Red Tails (even though I heard it wasn't that good), but he is still cash in in on Star Wars.
They should add a scene to Phantom Menace where Jar Jar Binks is shot in the head and mutilated beyond recognition. Jar Jar is so annoying I just want to carve grooves in his head with a rake.
He was going to make more Star Wars movies but he was talked out of it/told people since the last ones he made were panned so hard he's not gunna. haha. But with BluRay coming out in early November, now 3D....my god. Stop it already.

Except on Bargain day. The two theaters in my area have Tuesdays where all showings, including 3D are $7. I like going to the theater on Tuesdays and see a double feature.

I am a big Star Wars fan but George Lucas really needs to stop. I prefer the Star Wars video games over the movies now because at least the video games tell a new story and a let you see much more things in the Star Wars universe. It gets really boring seeing the same movies released over and over again. Episode 1 Sucks, Episode 2 meh, Episode 3 is okay.

Star wars episode 3 was pretty good, I really enjoyed that, he ruined the scariness of Darth Vader and made him a tragedy which is pointless. Im glad George has retired lets hope after these 3d releases he stops milking the blood from this cash cow (yes i said blood, the milk ran dry ages ago).

First thing is: the only 3-D movie I saw that was great was Captain EO at Disneyland in CA.
Second: why won't George Lucas make a move based on Episode 7? It was the book that was about Han Solo and Princess Leia married and had a son and daughter (I think).
I would love to see that as a movie as a sequel to Episode 6: Return of the Jedi.

Im a huge Star Wars fan, but seriously WTF George??? What the hell happened to him? Star Wars Episode 1 to 3 sucks! I think the reason was because unlike the first trilogy, in the new trilogy he didnt have a collaboration with other people while making it. Goddamn Lucas needs more money, that is way he is doing this. I also hate the fact he keeps altering his work. He made Red Tails, btw. I saw it, it wasn't very good. He is a one trick pony.

@DarthOptimus207 I was 8 or 9 when the Phantom Menace came out and I thought it was pretty decent. Looking back I think it's pretty poorly done. I really just find myself not caring at all about the prequel trilogy. All the main characters could die and I wouldn't have cared. It just seems like when i'm watching them that i'm waiting for them to be over, which is the exact opposite I feel watching the original trilogy.

I realized recently that George Lucas is a terrible director. Literally, he has been riding the success of his two series. Indiana Jones, I love all 4 (4th and 2nd ones a little less but they're still fun). Star Wars I like Episode 3 onward. But yeah, he didn't even direct the one that people love the most, Empire Strikes Back. I'm glad that he recently has tried to make a new movie with Red Tails (even though I heard it wasn't that good), but he is still cash in in on Star Wars.
