  • I don't even care I would pay to see keaton as batman if they do an aging batman

  • The other, 1966 style one was funny, but this one was even better IMO. :)

  • What do you know? This trailer made that movie looked like an action movie, XD

  • @Mentidero Eh, it is an action movie. It's just not as fast paced as everything is today.

  • ive only seen batman, batman returns, batman forever and batman begins AND TDK

but then i scroll down and i see BATMAN AND ROBIN and.... wow -.-

    1.bane is retardet

2.every line Mr freeze has the word "Ice" in it

    3.Robin is a pussy

  • Bravo my friend, Bravo! Genius. Love the video. Love all batman movies!

  • brought back memories. 1989 reporting in,

  • FUCKIN' AWESOME! I LOVE IT! CAN YOU UPLOAD IT IN HD!?!

  • I honestly think '89 joker is the most disturbing.

  • @Marnetmar666 i do to for some reason

  • I always love that "HIT MEH!" part ! !

  • Genious. Good job man.

  • lol Billy Dee Williams as Lucious Fox.

  • @TheCajunGambit1 Well! He fits better to play as Lucius Fox then Harvey Dent/Two-Face Mate! XD

  • This would've been so great.

  • BRILLIANT mixing job. Thumbs up. :)

  • I remember when this came out, they promoted this movie like no tomorrow. Everyone was rockin the Batman shirts and hats that summer.

  • @robinsonjd1978

You saw this in theaters too and had a few merchandise? did you see the sequel in theaters and watched the animated show as well? that was an awesome and grown up superhero animated show that came out near prime time in the early 90s

  • Awesome.

  • "like me" *explosion* lmaoo

  • This is why I love old Batman, because he had an airplane!

  • That worked really well. I love the '89 Batman.

  • Wow, that worked really well. Great job!

  • Ummmmm awesome!!!!

  • Great job!

  • I think Harvey Dent that villain is abit scary just like Lex Luthor

  • Both movie are so much alike.

  • wow. that was really cool.

  • Keaton & Nicholson = Best ever!

  • This was nicely done, I liked it.

  • Thank you so much for making this. Batman movies are great, especially Tim Burton's version. I haven't seen The Dark Knight yet, but I hope to see it, as it's great.

Have they said anything about the old movie inspiring these new movies?

  • NO other Joker beats Mark Hamill

  • @Johnlindsey289 Except for Jack Nicholson!

  • @noahdanielg

What do you think of Hamill as Joker?

  • @Johnlindsey289 So glad you ask! Well, i LOVE Mark Hamill as the Joker he's the second greatest. He's so psychotic. But what alway's botherd me is that there is never an episode were Batman meets Joker for the first time. He's so smart and evil with lines like: "Behind all the sterm and batarang sat just a little boy in a play suit, crying for mommy and daddy!" He is great. But i like Jack Nicholson a little better. If there was a first meet episode Hamill would be the best.

  • @Johnlindsey289 heath and jack at least combined both voice and physical characteristics with their joker, not just voice. mark hamill did a phenomenal job though

  • agreed great editing skills

  • your editing skills are definitely most triumphant

  • awesome

  • Jack is the best JOKER ever

  • you certainly made the 1989 version a lot more exciting. great job.

  • This here is what you call a masterful job at editing.

  • bale and keaton: best batmans ever

  • what is my favorite scene from the dark knight is when the joker is walking and taunting batman and shooting his gun, while batman is on the bike charging towards him because its similar to tim burtons when jacks joker is taunting batman when hes flying that bat thing.

  • @TwistedChild93

Yeah an its funny cause 89 Batman was totally trying to gun his ass down. He just missed unlike modern Batman who chickened out lol. Old school Batman was ready to get nuts!

  • @Sifer2 yeah for sure ahah but both movies were fantastic RIP Heath

  • @TwistedChild93 i agree. These are the two best batman films imho.

  • @codebabe oh yea for sure

  • I dont know why everyone is hating on bale his batman is more dark he hates what he made he blames himself for everything keaton his batman is more on the edge of becoming what his fighting

  • keaton far more better than bale. bale's wayne was ok but when batman his voice just got annoying

  • @willb3452 keaton is by far a better batman, i still think bales bruce wane is the best, right next to val kilmer. hopefully bale took some constructive criticism from the dark knight, and the voice in the dark knight rises will be less cancerish

  • @willb3452

What about Kevin Conroy from TAS?

  • Keaton understood Batman being enclosed, reflective, and almost joyless.

  • P.S. In terms of this specific edit; I'm loving it so far. *likes* Maybe use less image-less audio, although I can appreciate how difficult it could be to find the perfect fit. But too much image-less audio reduces its own dramatic effect. Still, great so far!

  • LOLLL Homeboy put up Billy Dee Williams for Lucius Fox!! Hahaha!!

  • Nice job. The audio actually matched up really well with the video clips!

  • I like the way Alfred says"the right choice" and all you see is a beautiful girl as rachel in every fan made trailers!

  • This is Cool Shout Out Batman

  • heath ledger + jack nicholson = Best Jokers Ever!

  • good!

  • Well-done.

  • you've put the words in their mouths alomst perfectly. i like it!

  • how do u get the trailer audio

  • lol how in the original trailer the gordon broke the batman symbol and in this one bruce wayne just broked that vace:D 1:13

  • that waz awesome

  • ledger was more natural and realistic joker and jack was a cartoonish joker.

    both did great as jokers

  • @crivera206 i agree with both jokers did great even if ppl argue about it but i still am a keaton batman fan and sorry but the old alfred owns the new one

  • @crivera206 i would say like the comic book better, what 1989 batman was,, it had the realistic Realism and just the right amount of Mysticism to it,, that made it dark, gothic, mysterious, and very much like the comic books,, the films that followed after burton went downhill ,, but this one was great

  • Comment removed

  • @crivera206 wroooongggg, ledger did a great job , but joker is suppose to be more as jack portait him. Ledgers joker was too dark and didnt really have any jokes...., the real joker is suppose to be as it is in the comics.

  • @Gouki6669 Nolan's Batman universe isn't a perfect recreation of the comic, but an adaptation into a more realistic world. Ledger was perfect. Jack did great for the more cartoony burton film.

  • @crivera206 Also can't forget Cesar Romero and Mark Hamill they were all great Jokers for their specific eras.

Cesar Romero: 60s and 70s Batman

Jack Nicholson: late 80s and early 90s Batman

    Mark Hamill: 90s Batman

    Heath Ledger: 2000s Batman

  • @crivera206 well, one thing to keep in mind is that the marketing was much bigger in the toy dept for the 89 movie. Also, this was Tim Burton's twist. I love Tim Burton's work. Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson were perfect. Batman Begins and the Dark Knight are for a different time period when the demographic is inclined towards slasher films.

  • @crivera206

The joker shouldn't be natural or realistic.

    He's complete evil.

    A devil.

  • "To them you're just a freak... Like me :D"

I'm just waiting for him to jump up and say "Let's go play with our HotWheels" or something else frist-grader-y...

  • fucking AWESOME!! Always loved this mashup. I love both of these movies equally and both jokers were awesome (Heath's was a genius and i loved watching his plans unfold, and Nicholson's was just FUN! and he had those awesome weapons)

  • Brilliant.

  • my personal oppinion i think the tim burton 1989 batman movie, is better,, its just more dark and more Mysterious,, actually a much more Mysterious batman ,it has the mysterious element the animated serries had of the early 90's and the comic

  • wow look at 1:32 when lucious fox says "Now that's more like it mr.wayne" you add billy dee williams (harvey dent) hmmm,,,kinda raci....funny......kinda funny

  • Dark Knight was better

  • You did a nice job Yoda811 !

  • jack was more the joker. ledger was that psyco guy. both was perfect

  • Ledger is the greatest Joker ever! Jack is an idiot and sucked as the joker! Ledgers version is much darker!

  • @Srlion10 You need to understand that the Joker doesn't have one set of personality traits. There is no "true" Joker because the Joker himself does not stick to ONE pattern of behavior.

He has a dark side; sadistic, tormenting and evil. The true stuff of nightmares. However the Joker also has his fun-loving, hilarious side where he is content to go around Gotham City goofing on everyone and noone dies, just so much property damage and aggravation that Batman HAS to go after him.

  • Very well put together. I really enjoyed it!

  • i watched this movie with my beta.. good memories...

  • The part when Bruce hits the vase with the poker with the glass hitting the bat signal worked perfectly. It almost looks as if that's the actual cause of the shattering sound. And Joker's "C'mon Hit me!" looked as if Jack's Joker was saying it. Nice job.

  • Jack and Heath both were groundbreaking Jokers...They showed different aspects of the Joker, and they did it with style

  • HKKLNBKONJRIPNJBVFHVBVHBFHJFBNFJBNDJKBNDGJB GNJKBHJBKJGNHGKBHJM THAT WAS BOGUS

  • I think Jack plays more of the silly clown and heath is the intellectual psychopath, both of which the joker is. their just 2 sides of the same coin :P

  • I had a feeling you were going to use billy dee Williams as lucias fox! It doesn't fit considering his character is Harvey dent in this movie

  • nicholson rules

  • waaaaaaaaaaaaw

  • Im not comparing them, but personally i like nicholsons better. it was closer to the comics

  • after watching the trailer i realize that this movie the batman 1989 is better than what i thought

  • haha... ♫ we gonna party like it's 19.... Hold up, IT WAS! xD

  • that ultra long pistol is hilarious !

  • omg! Your editing is superb! I love it! Spot on! =)

  • Christopher Nolan's movies are fantastic..... but never forget Burton, who paved the way.

  • Very awesome,favorited.

  • i miss the old alfred not too happy with the new but i do like morgan freeman in the new movies

  • very nice man

  • Jack Nicholson is the best Joker ever more better than new Joker

  • @Milda47 go ahead, think wat you want, because u can't accept that a very talented aussie actor is better than jack nicholson (sorry if this sounds mean, im just a big fan of heath ledger...)

  • @UNLIMITEDJaKE1 Are you nuts? Heath Ledger is NOT a better actor than Jack Nicholson. Period. Ledger, might have played a better Joker, but is not a better actor than Nicholson.

  • @Tarantula417 oh yeaah totaly, i was sayinng hes better than jack at playing the joker

  • @Tarantula417 For obvious reasons, we may never know. Besides, I think that comparison is unfair.

  • Nicholson's Joker has more style which also gives him a mafia-like personality. Heath's is just psychotic with a husky voice. I like Nicholson more.

  • @Tomahawk511 Yeah but what's more dangerous? a pschycopathic killer with one heck of a mind for planning(Heath Ledger's) or a crazed mafia like maniac(Jack Nicholson)? it's 'apples and apples' as they say, but poeple really shouldn't compare them just...admire them =P

  • @Johny40Se7en Dont get me wrong now, i like BOTH of them! :P

  • good stuff, well done

  • WELL DONE!

  • title is misleading

  • You can't compare Jokers just because those are different jokers, just like in the card deck: a red one and a black one.

  • @PufferBluntman You know, after saying the same thing for what feels like years, it's about time I saw someone say the same. different Jokers for different eras. There's those that debate over Heath and Cesar Romero! What!?

  • @psylentknight I know what you're saying and I agree that the comparison is a little unfair, but I also a matter of test-of-time. Obviously, Romero's version wouldn't work with modern times just like Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor. Let's just say that both of these actors paved the way for the modern ones.

  • @sdcazares1980 Definitely, as well as they were/are fitting for our ever changing society and audiences. Everyone's gonna have their proper version of 'em.

  • @PufferBluntman heath is still not top joker. he acts more like the riddler in the dark night.

  • @thecopykidofthestarz the crow

  • @thecopykidofthestarz Jack was more of an actual clown, Heath Ledger played some wierd bin Laden wannabe.

  • @PufferBluntman exactly

  • @PufferBluntman You can compare anything to anything. Thats why its called comparing. You actually think you can only compare things that are the same? Thats retarded.

  • @tibsnow no, arguing on the Internets about movies - that's retarded

  • @PufferBluntman I never mentioned a movie. I said comparing things that are the same is retarded. And it is.

  • @tibsnow Being pedantic is retarded. *troll face*

  • If you like the 1989 Batman, look up "Joker's message to Batman" on click on Light Talk's channel to watch.

  • pure awesome

  • How badass is Joker at 1:46

  • I wonder how many people will be saying "Shit, i guess i need to rewatch the old movie" after seeing this fan trailer. Which is fantastic btw.

  • Is there any chance you could make the '89 Batman you posted here but with the dialog from the movie itself with Elfman's soundtrack? Basically a modernized version of the Batman '89 trailer? Also, maybe touch up the Batman Returns trailer? (Even though that one was near perfection)

  • @AftermathRebel just watch Batman 1989 trailer

  • @rkd350z The official one? I've seen it.

  • Cool. Good job.

  • noooooo.....ledgers portrayal of the joker brought the flamboyant cartoony character to real life....the one time i actually feared a character from a comic based movie.

  • AWESOME !!!!!

  • nice!

  • well maybe you should take the audio from the batman 1989 and put it the darkknight! HUH HUH!

  • thats a good idea!

  • although jacks joker was pretty good, lets be honest, its so obvious that it is jack nicholson playing him, hes a very transparent actor. his best 2 acting performances are one flew over the cuckoo's nest and the shining, which are both, fantastic. Ledgers performance as an actor was far, far superior to that of nicholson's.

  • everyone knows Joe Chill killed Batman, not Joker, and that the Joker can never be a mobster, he's pure incorruptible evil, while Batman is pure incorruptible good which is mentioned in Dark Knight. I'm sorry but plot wise the 1989 film is a disgrace.

  • @zzzzJAGJEETzzzz Joe Chill killed Batman?

  • @LightFincher sorry about that mistake lollolim as bad as the film ahaha it was his parents

  • @zzzzJAGJEETzzzz lollolim? lol I liked Burton's Batman films, yeah he didn't stay true to the comics but the'yre still enjoyable Batman films. But yeah, The Dark Knight is the best Batman film to date. I hope Nolan's third instalment will be even better.

  • @zzzzJAGJEETzzzz and @LightFincher Joe Chill killed Batman's PARENTS

  • @eradicaar sorry about that mistake lollolim as bad as the film ahaha

  • Nothing tops the Dark Knight, even Burton himself said the Nolan films treated Batman at its roots, and were more darker, and that times in the 80s were different. Ledger put in a fine performance. Anyone who thinks the 1989 Batman is better is foolishly trying to cling on to bygone nostalgia and jokey characters. Burton aborrated the plot.

  • I was born long after 1989 and i still prefer Burton's version. I'm also a film student so don't assume that i'm a young idiot who likes flashy things. I grew up in our age and I still look to the past, i preferred the style and the feel. Don't you DARE assume anything of people.

"phew" sorry I don't like it when movies are compared, just let people decide for themselves

  • @khfanboy666 WELL I THINK JAWS THE REVENGE IS BETTER THAN BOTH THESE MOVIES!!

    jk, I do that sometimes.

  • I Thought This Was Real till I watched The Real Dark Knight Trailer

  • For me Ledger was the better. Jack's fat Joker look like he had an allergic reaction to a bee sting in the chops and the acting has actually dated very badly. Ledger's performance is timeless. Good video by the way, but the 1966 version is superior.

  • This is frighteningly well done! Must have taken ages, cudos.

  • Trying to act like Nicholson would have been the wrong way. I like Ledger's Interpretation of the Joker very much. His Joker wouldn't fit in Burtons Film, as Nicholsons Joker wouldn't fit in Nolans Film.

  • the black guy at 1:33 is Harvey Dent :)

  • @The90slim90 i think he was also lando calrissian(forgive me for spelling)

  • Stabs a guy with a pen...HOLY SHIT THAT ROCKS!

  • Heath did a wonderful job, easy to say, but Jack's was better because his was more fun.

His Joker had the electric hand buzzer, an acid squirting boutiniere, poisonous gas, cosmetics that made people die with real large smiles on their faces, a retractable gun, a sharp edged feather, and a few guns.

What does the new one have?

    Guns, knives, some bombs, and a pencil. . . . . . . boring.

  • GREAT WORK! That worked out very well

  • the dark knight is the best batman movie ever made. heath ledger was the best joker ever.

  • shut up to does who keeps saying batman 1989 is better than dark knight and also saying dark knight is better 1989

  • great

  • AWESOME! :D

  • heath ledger is better !!

    i am sure!.

  • I'm getting tired of hearing people say Ledger was the better Joker or Nicholson was the better Joker. They both acted the roles fabulously, just creepy enough with that wonderfully twisted sense of humor. Personally I think you can't compare them with each other.

Pertaining to the video, this was BRILLIANT. I think it's the best fan trailer I've ever seen for anything.

  • Jack Nicholson's Joker is based on the one from the comic books. With the skin bleaching and stuff. Ledger's Joker is made to look more real, like he would look in real life. But I still think that Nicholson did a better job. I'm not saying that Ledger did bad, but he got most of the credit after he died ( I'm not hating on him or trying to insult him). I still think that Jack Nicholson gave the Joker a better look.

  • ledger's joker was awesome in the current generation, but for me jack(still bad ass )is the best original joker!

  • very good job given the materials you had to work with. :)

  • Interesting video. This video only points out how hollow & empty the old Batman films are when compared to Nolan's masterpieces. I do not hate Burton's 1989 film, & actually very much enjoy SOME aspects of it, but it just doesn't compare to the two most recent.

  • Nice! You did a great job editing this together. I didn't think it would match up nearly as well as you did.

  • in my hhumble opinion i think this one obviously opened the door for the new ones. tim burton is a freak genius and artist. christopher nolan did a great job but this was the door opener for the new ones. plus prince did the soundtrack for this movie. and billie dee williams, was harvey dent as well

  • EspioArtworl31

  • The cinematography was pretty dull and acting was cheesy as hell. This goes to show you that people were desperate for a super hero movie in 80's.

  • it actually matches up really nice
