Although this particular style seems to be a very localized style, and isn't wide spread. The banner at the end of hte video said: ShanXi(??) province Gong Li public discussion and organization conference. Here, "Gong Li" doesn't mean "ability and strength(??)" as the long fist form does, but rather means "bow power(??)" . So if you want to find this style, go to ShanXi province.
In response to jsooi. This video is part of a national survey of martial arts after the cultural revolution, around early 80s I believe. So evidently the style still existed after the cultural revolution.
wow respect. there's more to shaolin then meets the eye. but styles and their meaning like this were lost during the cultural revolution so don't bother about ppl like this in china now. most are doing it for entertainment and cheating foreigner especially euro spending foreigners.
Gong li quan is a standard form that is used in contemporary forms of northern Shaolinquan - it means, "power fist" or "power training sequence", along those lines. This form has, apparently, long fist, taijiquan, eagle claw, bagua, etc, elements, but the name is the same. There may have been a gong liquan style at one point, but I'm not sure if it is still practised.
The form most commonly practised is genuinely good for power training - the use of a double fist punch (never actually used in a real fight) trains the spine, because a punch based on coiling power cannot generate power from waist jerking if both fists are being used. The large movements are good for training waist power. It's a good form.
