i saw Billy in 94 in Nuremberg , tho i did live in Frankfurt at the time...i missed that one. i remember praying for his well-being as he looked fatigued and my oldest daughter, now twenty, was a toddler, with me, and my second daughter danced in my belly... beautiful day, thank you Billy.
@Vgirlification ... I saw him '94 in Nuremberg, too. Mr. Joel visit the american soldiers who were stationed in Nuremberg... and a view weeks later in Frankfurt. His concerts are so meaningful.
ich habe ihn 1991 in Oldenburg live erlebt. Es war großartig. Er zählte schon vorher zu meinen lieblings Sängern, aber ihn live zu erleben war das größte.
billy has always been ridiculously underrated as a singer. while i wouldn't say this is quite the best live performance of "allentown", he's still hitting those high notes here in his mid-40s and making it look easy (whereas in the 1987 leningrad performance he seemed to be straining a bit). i know music critics have always kind of used billy as a punching bag, but i don't care what anyone says; "the nylon curtain" is a brilliant album.
I found "the nylon curtain" cassette in my junk drawer about 20 years ago, and I maintain that discovering the record was one of the great moments of my life. I will ever be grateful for this album!
absolutely...i saw a video on here of him doing "an innocent man" from a few years back, and it was insanely good. i was lucky enough to see billy live back when he was touring behind "river of dreams", and he was fantastic, but i bet he'd be just as good to see today. it's great to see that he's still got it.
Why is MTV not showing this kind of music?
