man...the towel trick works as long as you leave ya console on after.... i fixed mine and i never turned it off and often sat a fan in front of it to stop it from overheating.......hope this helps someone out there

this will in the end break your xbox beyond personal repair. it fries the CPU and then you wont have a xbox at all. E74 can only be repaires sucessfully by microsoft. call in for repairs or take back to the store you bought it from and get it replaced.
