the name of the original artwork this picture was based on is "all is vanity" by Charles Allen Gilbert. he drew it in 1892 while still a student in France, it was later published in Life magazing in 1902 issue.

it has been duplicated many times in drawings, paintings and photography, but this albumcover is one of the best reproductions you will ever find IMO, because it keeps the even balance of both images in the same way as the original.

it's my favorite artwork.

They've done 3 versions of this song. This one, the B-side to Hysteria and their original LP in 1980. I like the earliest one the best. But it is amazing how they can take the same song and give it a new separate life each time.
