  • SPIN IT SHAWN SPIN IT!!!!!!!!

  • It's sad when ex mormons state that their regard and respect for the Bible or God increased greatly after they left the LDS church. Clearly they weren't following the counsel to study the scriptures when they were members, which says a lot. And clearly they didn't understand the teachings of the church.

  • @peaceliberty4all I understood quite well, as in the 70's while I was suffering from severe untreated depression that the current teaching for of the church was that my illness was from Satan. Though it has been purged from the online records, I clearly recollect the teaching from the pulpit in Salt Lake was that if he were sufficiently obedient to the church, a mentally ill person would not need medication. I am 100% convinced that leaving the LDS church saved my life.

  • @eeikman I'm not sure what other source you think depression comes from but it certainly doesn't come from God. I'm also not sure what that has to do with an LDS feelings towards the Bible. I have already discussed this with you and proven you misconstrued what was said in the 70's. Meds are helpful but they treat the symptom not the root of the problem and the side effects for those meds are depression and suicide! I know plenty of people dealing with this. Those not medicated but dealing

  • @eeikman with the underlying issue seem to do far better and overcome their depression far quicker than those who are medicated. Christ and his teachings are a far better medicine than anything man can come up with. Though I do believe that meds are necessary at times. BTW what I just stated didn't come from the church or any LDS teaching but my own research and friends/family dealing with it.

  • @peaceliberty4all You're opinion is based on superstition, which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so common, which is why so many suffer privately. I do thank you for being so frank with me, as you've given me a window to view current Mormon sentiment.

  • @eeikman I did not give you a window to view Mormon sentiment as what I stated is NOT popular belief among mormons (Utah is proof of that) and did not come from being LDS or from superstition but from my own research and experience of those I know (some in the church, some not). Please tell me one thing I posted that was not factual?

  • @eeikman And there is no reason for people to "suffer privately" as depression is nothing to be ashamed of. It is an outward expression of an inward problem just as any other disease is and should not be looked at any differently than cancer or any other ailment!

  • @peaceliberty4all Mormonism is false. I testify.

  • @peaceliberty4all And... when I learn that the "stick of Joseph" as mentioned in Ezekiel wasn't referring to a fornicating con-man in the 19th Century, my respect for the Bible could only go up from that low. :P

  • Joseph Smith Jnr was a prophet of God... Good night everyone!

  • I find it interesting that Jesus' message to his apostles and his followers, wasn't good enough. Nope!

We had Joe Bob Smith to come up with "Uh, the bible we're reading, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are not good enough, I got a new plan! All the stuff in the bible wasn't correctly transcribed! What Jesus told people, nahhh, we get to go to planet Kolob! And the missionaries will lie right to your face when you mention this. "Kolob, I don't know what you are talking about!"

  • @Darkrunner75 which message of Jesus, repent?, forgive 70 x 7 times? have you done these?... even if you have, without charity your faith in Christ is vain. Joseph Smith has done more in his short life than you will ever do for the wellbeing of people.

  • @2011neesh The legacy of Joseph Smith: Disruption of families, misrepresentation of the LDS church's polygamist practices to converts in Europe, fraud, death and war, etc, etc. It would've been a boon to mankind for Joseph Smith to have died as a child.

  • @eeikman what are you gonna do go back in time and have him dead as a child haha, please there is nothing you can about the matter as you kick against the truth,,,,, I dont know if it would have been a boon to mankind but I do know you are a baboon

  • @2011neesh It's wishful thinking, but I can't help wondering what the world would be like without men that cynically use the trust of others to gain control over them. If spiritual yearning is really at the heart of a human being, the control Joesph Smith exercised over his followers tantamount to rape.

  • @eeikman its ok,,, you have got the onion ministeress to save you

  • @2011neesh I promise you that when and if you come to accept that Joesph Smith lied, many things regarding the LDS church will fall into place in your mind. For me, my respect and regard for the Bible increased greatly.

  • @eeikman abraham and jacob had more than one wife, is this poligamy??..... and you are going to have to tell me one thing Joseph Smith lied about, just one thing will do and it has to have strong hard evidence to back it up too

  • Joseph Smith was a prophet of God.. Good night =)

  • Joseph Smith Junior a Prophet of God

  • @2011neesh This is a declarative statement. Whereas Joesph Smith fails test after test given to us in the Bible to distinguish a true prophet from a false one.

  • @eeikman 2 Chronicals 24:21 King Joash joined in a conspiracy against Zechariah, and on the king's orders the people stoned Zechariah in the Temple courtyard.22 The king forgot about the loyal service that Zechariah's father Jehoiada had given him, and he had Zechariah killed. As Zechariah was dying, he called out, "May the Lord see what you are doing and punish you!"....There's more you would find if you actually sat down and read the bible rather than acuse as the father of all lies

  • @eeikman also Matt 23: 34 And so I tell you that I will send you prophets and wise men and teachers; you will kill some of them, crucify others, and whip others in the synagogues and chase them from town to town.... I would incourage you to read all of chapter 23, please if you dont understand it let me know so I can explain it so you can understand

  • @2011neesh Since you appear to be Mormon, I would like to ask you the following....Since the Mormons state they believe the Bible to be the word of God, insofar as it's correctly translated, how do you know the passages you quoted, Matt 23:24, 2 Chronicles 24:2, are correctly translated? And while we are at it, would you provide for a list of these mistranslated passages, the reasons why they are not translated correctly, and the proper rendering of these passages?

  • @TheJpgr1958 how do you knw the bible is true?

  • @2011neesh Are you going to answer my questions or not? My questions were to provide us with these passages that are mistranslated, the reasons why they are mistranslated, and the correct renderings of these passages. Also, when you as a Mormon quote passages from the Bible, how do you know the passages you quote are "correctly translated?" As they say in the movie business, take two!!

  • @2011neesh Balaam was a "prophet" that was slain. Was Matt 23 speaking of Balaam? Why would the "prophet" Joseph Smith marry a mother and her daughter (Leviticus 18:17) marry blood sisters (Leviticus 18:18) which is forbidden by the references I have given. Why would a "prophet" commit adultery by marrying a woman who was already married? (Marinda Johnson Hyde, Elizabeth Davis Durfee and nine others).

  • @eeikman balam was a false god, so Matt 23 was not speaking of balam. Abraham and his grandson Jacob had more than one wife, was that adultery? can you explain? do you understand?... And why would you visit a muslim website to find out more about Christ?. its like politics, a party wont paint a nice picture of there opponent,, I know my words of truth makes your heart tremble but you have to go to the real source for understanding, not old wives fables,,do you understand?

  • @2011neesh * Jacob had more than one wife, was that adultery? * Abraham and Jacob never lay with another man's wife. Joesph Smith married and lay with women who where married to other men, this is Adultery. He married sisters, married a mother and daughter - strictly forbidden by God's law.

  • @2011neesh * balam was a false god, so Matt 23 was not speaking of balam * The name is Balaam. Please read the Bible, it really is important.

  • @2011neesh * balam was a false god, so Matt 23 was not speaking of balam. *

Look up: Balaam and His Talking Donkey

It is one of the most interesting stories in the Bible.

  • @2011neesh * chase them from town to town * Joesph Smith was chased towns due to his glass looking (fraud), swindling people out of life savings (Kirtand Safety Society). Also, a husband do not look kindly upon their wedding bed being soiled by the likes of Joesph. I can imagine one or two angry husbands or protective brothers wanting the kill that man.

  • @2011neesh I would encourage you to visit wivesofjosephsmith org for a list of Joseph Smith's wives, including those who already had husbands. The site has references to LDS sources published by Deseret Book. If you don't understand what Adultery is, let me know and I can give you the Biblical view of marriage.

  • I believe in the angel of Macaroni

  • People are very naive if they think that if Romney is the nominee the Obama campaign and super pacs are going to destroy him with stuff like this. Racist scriptures and all will come to forefront of the presidential race. Romney has no chance at beating Obama!

  • Junior dreampt up the angel Macaroni, who now stands atop temple spires blowing a gold horn. All fables have a part in American history.

  • Imagine hearing these lyrics from Jefferson Airplane as Joseph Smith wanders the hill to get the Gold Plates™: ♫ And if you go chasing rabbits, and you know you're going to fall, tell them a hookah smoking caterpillar has given you the call... ♫

  • A good movie score for the scene when Joseph Smith went up the hill to get the Gold Plates™ would be Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit".

  • The apsotle Paul by the Holy Spirit wrote "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an ange of light." II Corinthians 11:14

  • "Sleeping?" I thought he was offering a prayer of thanksgiving for God giving him all those "delicious yummies."

    "Dum, dum, dum, dum."
