Subjective reasoning, I guess. Knopfler of course isn't going to do as well solo (and I think he likes it that way). But, put yourself in 1978-92, and Dire Straits were everywhere.

Yes! packed out Wembley arena for 13 nights, and I was at one of them. Awesome concert! Brothers in Arms had a 5 minute standing ovation.

He's using Overdrive and Andytotts right, Wahpedal on 3/4 and then there's some other effect, but I don't know what it is yet.
