  • COULD YOU ALL MAKE A CAR THAT DOSENT LOOK LIKE AND RACE CAR?

SOME LIKE 2012 CAMARO OR CHALLENGER?

HOW MUCH IS THE CAR IN THE VIDEO?

  • @LAMONTDAVIS3 COULD YOU TURN OFF CAPS LOCK?

  • @SteelCityDucati YEAH, I COULD....

  • what's the top speed?

  • lets all not hate electric cars until we've actually driven one

  • I wonder what he means by 150 MPG equivalent. Based on the total energy stored in the car (electricity vs. gasoline), cost of fuel, or emissions?

  • @NeilSutherlandME It is energy equivalent. There are 36.6 kWh/US gal of petrol.

  • @tsport100 That's pretty amazing. Do you know what the range per charge is (or the electricity economy, eg kWh/mi)?

  • all nice that it go faster but they are ripping the soul out off the sports you want to hear the engine and smell rubber this is just boring to watch

  • @1992steffan Mate I live near a road and I fucking hate the noise of noisy engines going past every day. Some people can claim all they want how electric cars are going to take away the passion and soul and noise, but as far as I'm concerned they will bring a GLORIOUS reduction in noise pollution.

  • isnt that an ariel atom?

  • @cardude1992 i think it is

  • looks like the Ariel Atom....

  • is it based to Ariel Atom??

  • looks like an ariel atom to me

  • What you mean there's no cup holders! :(

  • I'm an electric fan i just like the facts to B as correct as possible!

  • There not slower as of 2011!

  • GTR does it in 2.7 on a good day but we get your point!

  • @chrisdawg002 You're guessing answers without making ANY attempt to learn the facts!

    1) It has 100 miles range

    2) Costs only $2 to fill

    3) With a fast charger can be filled in less than 20 mins.

  • @chrisdawg002 Have you heard about Tesla Motors? Their cars have a range of 300 miles, depending on how much you stomp the pedal.

  • @chrisdawg002 the tesla is prety good and is getting cheaper and it has a roof and dose 0to 60 in 3.5

  • @chrisdawg002

the thing about electric is they get the about same mileage no matter how you drive.

  • @kowdie12 Then its better to drive fast. lol Rather my car last 3hrs at 160mph (Wrightspeed) instead of 12min at 253mph (Bugatti)

  • @chrisdawg002 You are idiotic. Tesla Sedan, 200-300 miles, 1 hour fast charge. Expensive? Yes. Will the prices come down as technology develops and mass production begins? yes, A LOT.

Plan to the future. Don't focus 100% on the present - that's a dumb as shit thing to do.

  • LOL LMAO!!!!!!! THE NISSAN SKYLINE IS FASTER THAN THIS. Tho this car is pretty dang cool ;) thumbs up if you agree

  • This is not an Ariel Atom that has been converted. It just looks like it because they had the same idea. It was built from scratch. Then again, it should not be called a car. It is an electric rocket

  • although i know its faster with its single gear....i'd still want to be able to row through six, seems boring to have just one.

  • the funny thing is this car can go the same speed in reverse :P

  • That's ill

  • not to be a dick but ill stick with petrol

  • It looks like the Ariel Atom

  • @Meminem it is the Ariel Atom converted to be electric i'm 99% sure.

  • yea idk... my honda pilot challenges this car. hahahahahaha

  • There is only one reason we all don't have EV's...and that reason is the oil business. Most car companies are pretty much bullshitting with their EV's to keep their oil tycoon bullies happy. ;)

  • Comment removed

  • and just GO!

  • It's a Ariel Atom. This bitch just put an electric motor in it and now he is taking all the credit. He doesn,t even mention that it is an Ariel Atom. Did I mention that he is a Bitch?

  • I don't care how fast that go-kart is, i'll pick any one of the cars the owner claimed to have beaten in a heart beat.

  • @Solowizard why?

  • @r3dw0lf88, Because it looks like a Go-Kart. The fact that it's faster than some supercars means little.

  • gsr1000 = 20k

    0-60 3 seconds

  • I see one of those in my drive way in 10 years. I would like to convert my 1996 Honda Civic into an electric car.

  • Batteries are improving fast and price going down. Charging system is getting better and better, autonomy is rising etc. The only real problem that i rarely see debating is HOW ARE WE GOING TO PRODUCE ELECTRICITY TO FEED BILLIONS OF E-CARS? Electricity prices will rise and rise! We are focusing in the problem of charging centrals who will be useless cause we want to charge it at HOME. We should focus right now in a way to produce Millions of MGW with no coal or nuclear. BUILD millions of PANELS!

  • I think that DESERTS will be a gold mines in the future and electricity production by solar panels will produce wealth for millions. Countries will have to use all natural resources to generate power or else they will pay like they do for Oil or even more. Wind, Dams, Geothermic and a interesting system being developed in Portugal: Wave generators that use hydraulics tubes to produce energy from the waves of brave seas! Electric cars are arriving before energy production, Might be a problem..

  • @GabKoost

The higher the cost of electricity goes, the more viable home solar power systems become. They're already a smart investment. It just takes a few years to recoup the initial costs involved. The cost of electricity can only go so high before everyone just decides to go solar instead.

I see the potential for a bright future ahead of us, but there are a bunch of greedy and narrow-minded people standing in our way.

  • @SumoAnnoy I hope ur wright!!!

  • 170 mpg!!??? Wow...

  • you can also consider the fact that you do not shift.... In rallye, we were paying many thousand dollars to have "dog box" just to safe some second at the end of the race. What would it be to never shift at all? Electric car is the futur, in fact, fuel car is overwhelm since is creation.... Damn petrolum corporation.... I guess the world will be a better place to live when the energy war will be over.

  • @iceman241111

    Wrighspeed X1 - 220Bhp / 1536lb - 300bhp-ton

    Ariel Atom 300 - 300Bhp / 1005lb - 600bhp-ton

Yet the EV does the EXACT same time as the Atom with double the power to weight ratio, because EV motors have 100% torque from 0 rpm.

Hope you learnt something ICEman LOL

  • @tsport100 ha ha ha, man, that was a good lesson.

  • @iceman241111.... That's not correct bacause it faster than the Arial Atom petrol version!

  • @iceman241111 your a moron, you dont have to rev an electric engine and theres no lag, the power is instant

  • @iceman241111

You don't know anything of a electric engine .

  • @iceman241111 ok expert

  • @iceman241111 baterries have a lot of potential man

only the beginig of it expensive and alpha... watch that in 10 years

  • @iceman241111 lol you knew you where gonna get millions of negative votes..... soo one question, why do it?

  • @ostiaspedrin111 yeah im sorry dont thumbs me down for saying nissan skyline is faster i meant nissan gt-r(same thing T_T) it does 0-60 in 2.9 seconds (also its my dream car >.< don't h8)

  • @iceman241111 These electric cars do not have to contend with gears due to their far higher and far more broad torque delivery. This is why fuel cars completely lose out on acceleration against power to weight ratio..

  • To the folks asking "Isn't that an aerial Atom?". Yes it is.

Same for the folks who look at a Tesla Roadster and ask, "Isn't that a Lotus Exige?".

  • @iceman241111 When we're talking Top Speed then you are correct. When we're talking a 1/4 mile drag race from standstill, you're full of shit. Why? Because the consistent torque and lack of need to change gears gives electric drivetrains a flipping HUGE acceleration advantage to any COMPARABLE ICE set-up.

  • where did you buy thise motor

  • I want one of those... I wish though it had a roof

  • @davefgranger No, the Atom is not faster, they have tried beating 3 seconds with it, no cigar. The X1 conversion is faster 0-60 than any other super car, save for the Veyron... and it's only RWD.

  • love this, just change body, thats i call future

  • @davefgranger Get your facts straight. The Atom 300 does EXACTLY the same 0-60 and 1/4 mile, yet has 30% more hp and 40% less weight. The non-supercharged Atom that has close to the same hp is significantly slower!

  • @tsport100

A track as in not drag racing and that extra five hundred pounds will equate to much worse cornering and much greater tire wear.

  • Pretty cool, I do like the Atom more as it's original. What's the range on this? Hope it's better than the Tesla. Also it said up keep consists of tires, but how long does the $40K worth of batteries last. Lithium ion batteries tend to last pretty well, but they still need replaced every few years to stay in good shape. So how long until batteries reach 80% of original? Not against electric, but I've yet to see any signs that "the future is now". I

  • @bendrx Your obsessing about batteries, like ICEs don't wear out!

Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries last 2000 cycles before they reduce to 80% DOC (still usable) which is 200,000 miles.... most ICE cars are scrap due to heat stress by that mileage.

And the $40k is an exaggeration, the same 25 kWh pack costs costs $10k today.

  • Right on for the info, that is pretty good. I disagree with your opinion about 200K being the end of life on cars today, but we can disagree. So you're saying 200 miles to a charge, assuming it's driven lightly? That is a usable range, and much better than I expected. Only "obsessing" about batteries because that is typically want makes the electrics impractical due to both range and "fill up" time. Thanks again for the info.

  • @bendrx No mate... 2000 cycles = 100 miles range per charge... the same as a Nissan Leaf.

Lithium iron nanophosphate batteries can be charged to 80% full in 10-15 mins if a 415v 3 phase outlet is used.

Most cars are traded in by 10 years, the entire road fleet is replaced every 15 years... average mileage is 12k a year so most cars don't live much past 120-180k before they are replaced.

  • I hope he gets sued by ariel atom

  • electric cars are nice, sure thing, but sport car with electric motors? where is the noises! where is the feeling? it's good demo alright, but I'd buy the 500hp atom over this anytime, if I want a quiet electric confortable car I'll go with a pryus kind of car, not this

  • Why the hell would you remove the engine from an Ariel Atom and replace it with a battery?!

Okay, electric cars are cool - but make your own electric car; don't use an Atom and pretend like it's your electric car masterpiece . . .

  • Also, at 0:44 this guy forgets to mention that aside from the Bugatti Veyron, an Ariel Atom with an engine is also faster than his electric version

  • @mmoney9488hotmail You're talking about the 300 hp supercharged Atom with 100 hp more and 500 lb less weight than the EV yet is NO FASTER.

  • amazing conversion, Ian wright a hero of mine .

  • no 5 star from me, for not mentioning anywhere, in video or in comments, that this is a modified Ariel Atom - or an Ariel Atom based prototype -.-

  • too bad its $1/mile for the tires

  • this is pure gold, the future is here. I like the swap the battery idea but could the battery charge its self while traveling somehow like the energy of wind or wheels spinning can we harness this energy so the battery is self charging?

  • "thats fast, yea its the fucking fastest on on the road actually " lol

  • now THATS embarassing

  • your right this is the future, faster and more efficient than normally aspirated engines.

  • yeah right bs, a top fuel goes 0 to 300 in 3.5 to 4 seconds.

  • Grow a brain..

    1) Top fuellers aren't normally aspirated

    2) Use 10 Gallons of Nitromethane to do a 1/4 mile

    3) Have 36x the hp of the EV

  • read the statement,normally aspirated.

  • but you need a parachut.

  • I saw drag radials on the back,no 3 second 0-60 sprints with street tires

  • If battery technology can improve so that batteries are affordable and range greatly improved, this will be the future.

  • @aikaha with nissan bringing out the leaf all we need to do is wait till other car manufacturers come up with their own version

  • @aikaha or if ppl will be content with the range they have today.

  • @aikaha well right now we have really good batteries made called lithium-polymer (not regular lithium) you can get planty(purposely spelled wrong) of amperage and voltage from a relatively small pack. i know the packs are composed of cells that are each 3.7 volts. the bigger the cell the more amperage it will have. check out hobby king nano-tech batteries and you will be amazed on how much power they have being super small.(i get the joke thats what she said)

  • @aikaha Actually there is good batteries technology.

New batteries can be charged from 0-80% in 20 minutes with good charger.

They give you range of 300-500 km. They are more expensive than normal cars, but after about 150000 km cost difference returns because it costs about 1$ for 100km of driving. The only problem is that big petroleum companies will pay any money to lie about EV in public.

  • Since when are kittens measured in liters?

  • DUDE ! that guys probably your real daddy

how does it take away the whole essence of racing? if anything, it raises the bar.

  • because i hate it when people say its faster than a "ferrari or a porsche" well no shit! it dont weigh 3500 lbs, its a great concept though. but it just seems like all these new car makers today love to take down names that have been in the racing industy for decades ferrari has 28 world champs period

  • its not faster its just faster at a quarter mile not top speed

  • i love the way a ferrari sounds. Hands down my favorite. I have to give it to Wright tho, this is a sight for sore eyes.....its fun.

its a head turner. If i were him id put the technology into a Bat-mobile replica....talk about pussy puller, Cat-woman would be all like, "MEOW" ....having a few liters of kittens, if you know what im saying

  • ROFL

  • Why didnt Ian Wright made a new chassis? He doesnt know how to make one....

  • 0:15

  • lol

  • Doesn't the original arial atom go 0 - 100 in 2,8 seconds? so its ectually not faster then its gasoline counter part, but who cares this is an incredible concept.

  • No!! They both do EXACTLEY the same 0-60 and 1/4 mile times but:

    1) The EV is 220 hp, the supercharged Atom is 300 hp

    2) Because of the batteries the EV is 40% heavier than the Atom 300.

Bottom line: the Supercharged Atom has a power to weight ratio of 600 hp /ton yet the EV with less than 300 hp/ton matches it and costs only $0.02 per mile to run.

  • Ain't that an Ariel Atom?

  • Yes it's an Ariel Atom where they have taken out the combust engine and replaced it with a electric motor and batteries.

  • hey what car can go faster than this one?

  • bugatti veyron

  • go Ian, you can do it : )

  • woot? :)

a golf cart is fine for golf but don't you think it would be a bit slow on the freeway and a bit dangerous in crashes : )
