this is all fine and good, but when youre driving it to have a good time, whats the range? probably less than 50 miles then you have to charge the thing for 8 or 9 hours, electric cars, no matter how they perform, are idiotic.
@chrisdawg002 You are idiotic. Tesla Sedan, 200-300 miles, 1 hour fast charge. Expensive? Yes. Will the prices come down as technology develops and mass production begins? yes, A LOT.
Plan to the future. Don't focus 100% on the present - that's a dumb as shit thing to do.
This is not an Ariel Atom that has been converted. It just looks like it because they had the same idea. It was built from scratch. Then again, it should not be called a car. It is an electric rocket
There is only one reason we all don't have EV's...and that reason is the oil business. Most car companies are pretty much bullshitting with their EV's to keep their oil tycoon bullies happy. ;)
It's a Ariel Atom. This bitch just put an electric motor in it and now he is taking all the credit. He doesn,t even mention that it is an Ariel Atom. Did I mention that he is a Bitch?
Batteries are improving fast and price going down. Charging system is getting better and better, autonomy is rising etc. The only real problem that i rarely see debating is HOW ARE WE GOING TO PRODUCE ELECTRICITY TO FEED BILLIONS OF E-CARS? Electricity prices will rise and rise! We are focusing in the problem of charging centrals who will be useless cause we want to charge it at HOME. We should focus right now in a way to produce Millions of MGW with no coal or nuclear. BUILD millions of PANELS!
I think that DESERTS will be a gold mines in the future and electricity production by solar panels will produce wealth for millions. Countries will have to use all natural resources to generate power or else they will pay like they do for Oil or even more. Wind, Dams, Geothermic and a interesting system being developed in Portugal: Wave generators that use hydraulics tubes to produce energy from the waves of brave seas! Electric cars are arriving before energy production, Might be a problem..
The higher the cost of electricity goes, the more viable home solar power systems become. They're already a smart investment. It just takes a few years to recoup the initial costs involved. The cost of electricity can only go so high before everyone just decides to go solar instead.
I see the potential for a bright future ahead of us, but there are a bunch of greedy and narrow-minded people standing in our way.
you can also consider the fact that you do not shift.... In rallye, we were paying many thousand dollars to have "dog box" just to safe some second at the end of the race. What would it be to never shift at all? Electric car is the futur, in fact, fuel car is overwhelm since is creation.... Damn petrolum corporation.... I guess the world will be a better place to live when the energy war will be over.

This guy is so full of shit the reason this car can go so fast is not cause its electric its cause of the power to wieght ratio. Thats why a 300hp ariel atom can do 0-60 in 2.8 and quarter mile in 10.8-11 flat. Get this retard out of here.
@ostiaspedrin111 yeah im sorry dont thumbs me down for saying nissan skyline is faster i meant nissan gt-r(same thing T_T) it does 0-60 in 2.9 seconds (also its my dream car >.< don't h8)
@iceman241111 These electric cars do not have to contend with gears due to their far higher and far more broad torque delivery. This is why fuel cars completely lose out on acceleration against power to weight ratio..
@iceman241111 When we're talking Top Speed then you are correct. When we're talking a 1/4 mile drag race from standstill, you're full of shit. Why? Because the consistent torque and lack of need to change gears gives electric drivetrains a flipping HUGE acceleration advantage to any COMPARABLE ICE set-up.
@davefgranger No, the Atom is not faster, they have tried beating 3 seconds with it, no cigar. The X1 conversion is faster 0-60 than any other super car, save for the Veyron... and it's only RWD.
@davefgranger Get your facts straight. The Atom 300 does EXACTLY the same 0-60 and 1/4 mile, yet has 30% more hp and 40% less weight. The non-supercharged Atom that has close to the same hp is significantly slower!
I invented a breakthrough energy source that violates the law of energy conservation. I have a PROOF that there are electrodynamic phenomena that violate the law of energy conservation. I am looking for $6M for a prototype and patents.
Pretty cool, I do like the Atom more as it's original. What's the range on this? Hope it's better than the Tesla. Also it said up keep consists of tires, but how long does the $40K worth of batteries last. Lithium ion batteries tend to last pretty well, but they still need replaced every few years to stay in good shape. So how long until batteries reach 80% of original? Not against electric, but I've yet to see any signs that "the future is now". I
@bendrx Your obsessing about batteries, like ICEs don't wear out!
Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries last 2000 cycles before they reduce to 80% DOC (still usable) which is 200,000 miles.... most ICE cars are scrap due to heat stress by that mileage.
And the $40k is an exaggeration, the same 25 kWh pack costs costs $10k today.
Right on for the info, that is pretty good. I disagree with your opinion about 200K being the end of life on cars today, but we can disagree. So you're saying 200 miles to a charge, assuming it's driven lightly? That is a usable range, and much better than I expected. Only "obsessing" about batteries because that is typically want makes the electrics impractical due to both range and "fill up" time. Thanks again for the info.
@bendrx No mate... 2000 cycles = 100 miles range per charge... the same as a Nissan Leaf.
Lithium iron nanophosphate batteries can be charged to 80% full in 10-15 mins if a 415v 3 phase outlet is used.
Most cars are traded in by 10 years, the entire road fleet is replaced every 15 years... average mileage is 12k a year so most cars don't live much past 120-180k before they are replaced.
electric cars are nice, sure thing, but sport car with electric motors? where is the noises! where is the feeling? it's good demo alright, but I'd buy the 500hp atom over this anytime, if I want a quiet electric confortable car I'll go with a pryus kind of car, not this
this is pure gold, the future is here. I like the swap the battery idea but could the battery charge its self while traveling somehow like the energy of wind or wheels spinning can we harness this energy so the battery is self charging?
@aikaha well right now we have really good batteries made called lithium-polymer (not regular lithium) you can get planty(purposely spelled wrong) of amperage and voltage from a relatively small pack. i know the packs are composed of cells that are each 3.7 volts. the bigger the cell the more amperage it will have. check out hobby king nano-tech batteries and you will be amazed on how much power they have being super small.(i get the joke thats what she said)
@aikaha Actually there is good batteries technology.
New batteries can be charged from 0-80% in 20 minutes with good charger.
They give you range of 300-500 km. They are more expensive than normal cars, but after about 150000 km cost difference returns because it costs about 1$ for 100km of driving. The only problem is that big petroleum companies will pay any money to lie about EV in public.
because i hate it when people say its faster than a "ferrari or a porsche" well no shit! it dont weigh 3500 lbs, its a great concept though. but it just seems like all these new car makers today love to take down names that have been in the racing industy for decades ferrari has 28 world champs period
