  • We are the hokies, We will provail, we will provail, We are the Hokies, We are Virginia Tech

  • @hunterroutten123 Where does the term "Hokies" come from? I assume it just refers to the students of "VT"?

  • @CFAN123 The "Hokies" term is a name found just to support Virginia Tech. Many Hunters in the south call turkies, Hokies.

  • @hunterroutten123 Fair enough. Makes sense.

  • the song is mr. meeble's "100 pills"

  • this was one of the worst things ever my ex girlfriend had a friend that used to baby sit her when she was little that went to VT i remember her getting a message in class and the crying like crazy i was the only one that was the only one comforting her even the teachers at my school was not saying any thing it was sad that he had to do this but to any bullies out there this might happen again if you bullie one person to the extreme

MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH THE FAMILY'S OF THE VICTIMS

  • STEGER ALERT

  • VERY SADDENING

  • We are Virginia Tech. We are all Hokies today (4/16/**). It doesn't matter what the year is. This day will live on in our hearts. Each person is considered a Hokie on this day.

  • What is the song? This doesnt sound like gnarls barkley

  • That's because youtube removed it, ruining the video...

  • So what's the song.. i like it

  • This brings me back. Thanks for the video. God bless the Hokies!

  • WE ARE VIRGNIA TECH.

  • god bless and comfort all the families and friends of loved ones lost

  • God bless on all Victims.

  • We Are Hokies.

  • We. Are. Virginia. Tech.

  • We Are Virginia Tech

  • We Are Virginia Tech

  • Good memorial video. My friend knew one of the people that was shot. The bullet went through him and it was only an inch above his heart.

  • the shooter was not a victim. he wanted to do what he did. he accomplished his mission and its sick that any1 would want to do that let alone actually doing it. i think its better on the families that he killed himself so they didnt hav to see him. can u imagine the hate? god bless all families and friends of the victims and RIP

  • Thanks for sharing your experience Aedak.

  • what is the name of the song???

  • Gnarls Barkley - Just a Thought

  • my step brother went there and got killed it was so sad what happend 2 those people

  • wow im so sry bud

  • i dont no y ery 1 feelz bad for him he killed 32 ppl i dont fell him!

  • i feel sorry for the shooter too, it wasn't right what he did and it is an enormous tragedy for the victims and i feel for them too. But it must have taken a lot of trauma and pian to drive someine to do that...he was a vitcim too

  • I understand about his past, it definitly effects how he turns out to be. What kinda lifestyle did this guy have when he was growing up? You can't tell me that even though his child hood was fucked he should be normal? Although it's still no excuse, killing is hate and anger

  • wow...amazing..

  • Not really, the VT students, including his roommates, tried to help him out and get him some friends. It was his childhood that was the problem.

  • yes, and everyone forgets that...i do feel for the others, but think of how much the shooter was in pain when he did all of this...it is hard for me to believe that he didn't feel at least a little bit of remorse...AND FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DISAGREE WITH ME, I AM JUST SPEAKING MY MIND! don't hate me for it...

  • Beautiful video

    God bless Virginia Tech

  • That was beautiful.

    LETS GO

    HOKIES

  • How many accounts blocked is that now scrub?

  • wow this is the best video i've seen so far on virginia tech. nice footage

  • losingmyself25, i got a feeling there's something wrong wit you.

  • No tragedy is solely personal, all*ways are meant to profit from the L.esson, O.pportunity, V.ariety, and E.volution . . . offered by those who's sacrifice is given.

    BL*M

  • V-Tech will always be remembered.

    R.I.P<3

    Great video.

I posted it on my myspace.

  • /_ _\ That was a sad story...

    /.\/.\

  • aaarrrgghhh!!!!! i am so sad and mad that words cant describe it. like she said "nobody deserves a tragedy". r.i.p all victims and family. i am very sorry and i dont see why people have to take others lives, even if they r abused and bullied.

  • R.I.P

  • do you even have a heart?

  • Dat wuz so sad. R.I.P 2 everyone who died in Virginia Tech. ALWAYZ-N-MEMORY.

  • Thanks for sharing this, it was very touching....a VT alum

  • if you think that the bodies of 32 dead students are "cool" then shame on you dude, 27 years and you think is "cool" to see the bodies of the 32 people who died in a fucking shooting, were the fuck is your brain, what are you psicologicaly 10 years old? making fun of them! i actually don't believe it!! you don't even give a crap about all this

  • You should be ashamed

  • because there's these things called dignity and respect.

  • I really know where the system is actually failing but this kind of situation should be enough proof to change and correct what is wrong

I'll never forget my brothers and my sisters

  • It is true that he was mad for blood, crazy, but is also true that this is not the first time it happened; we should also remember columbine and others where people went through the same shock; but even though this continue to happen! How is it possible that this guy went through a supposed metal detector, the same protection they put to take care of this kind of situation, but anyway he passed the protection and went with 2 guns and enough refill to kill 32 people and himself!

  • i believe as a student, that this could have happened anywhere, not only in Virginia Tech but also in any other high school or university where, not justifying any action of the killer and others who had done the same, people are mistreated and often they send a message of desperation to the others, many embrace the situation and deal with it in very different ways others choose violence: fights, isolation, family disorders, etc. In this country, who easy is to get any kind of gun?

  • This is very true. We have to rethink how we operate and the values and traditions we and beliefs and ways of doing thing we uphold in this country. If we don't we are in trouble.

  • Transferring to another school would be a public acknowledgment that you have given up and you have surrendered to fatality.

Going back to your school would be a declaration to the whole world that you will not allow fear to conquer you and that eventhough innocent lives were lost, no senseless act of madness will crush your spirit.

Be brave. Be strong. You will survive. You will carry on.

  • We may be conference rivals on the field, but rest assured that the Seminole Nation is here for you and will continue to stand by you through these troubled times. So here's to you, Virginia Tech, for showing the rest of the world the unconquered spirit of the Hokie Nation. May Unconquered's flame light your darkest hour.

  • Now, in light of recent events, the statue has yet found another purpose. Last week, Unconquered was lit for a non-FSU event for the very first time - to honor all those affected by the Virginia Tech tragedy.

  • As of March, 2006, the university decided to light the spear for several reasons, including: selection into the NCAA basketball tournament, 'National Player of the Year' awards for any sport, conference championships, graduations and convocations."

  • "At sunset, on the night before home football games, as the Marching Chiefs play, the statue's spear is set aflame as students, alumni, and fans gather around it to show their support. The flame is later extinguished at sunrise on the morning following the game.

  • On the Florida State University campus, next to Doak S. Campbell Stadium, stands the statue "Unconquered." - a 19 foot bronze sculpture depicting a Seminole warrior on horseback wielding a spear. The statue does not portray any person in particular, but rather, represents the spirit of tribe who have successfully, and continue to, preserve their values and way of life.

  • Just what are your values and what is your way of life? Do you need to preserve it or do you need to find something different?

  • I tried to summarize the statue represented without taking away too much from the subject at hand. Simply put, the Seminole Tribe of Florida is the only Native American tribe never to sign a formal peace treaty with the United States government.

  • God bless Virginia Tech., God bless America

  • in my prayers. <3

  • I feel sorry for that young man and for everyone involved.

  • i pray for all of these victims and their families. god bless them all

  • i give my blessings

  • Thank you so much for putting this together.

  • it wasnt because anyone broke up with the guy, he just wasnt able to take the bullying in high school & he just used that as a vendetta against everyone. but thats not an excuse for someone to go out & shoot 32 people. my prayers are with everyone at vt & their families, god bless ya'll

  • God Bless them all. i have one question though. i know maybe nobody would know this.. but what was his reason? was it because of the bullying and lonliness? was it just his mental problems? many people at school are telling me it's because he was mental and his girlfriend broke up with him. I'm just wondering.. R.I.P. everyone..

  • He had no girlfriend, he was a loner who was teased and bullied his whole life.

  • I think he is an autism. He was late to speak out the first word when he was young and his mother worried about that.He was isolated even before he still lived in Korea. Most of the autism are mentally handicapped, but some are normal IQ like him. I am always attacked by them.I have worked in a special school for 18 years. We teach them with love and patience. But some are violence and must have cure.

  • R.I.P everyone who died in the VT massacre. My condolences go out to the friends and families of the victims who's lives were taken away in this devestating movement. You will all be in my prayers. R.I.P all VT victims.

  • We're very sorry to all the victims of VT, their families, friends and countrymen. We from Philippines, our deep prayers and condolences are with you.

  • I really loved the speech the woman gave, it was very powerful. Gave me shivers.

  • VT. The flame has passed to you the surviors. Pick it up and carry it bravely into the world. Be better than the best, be VT, be more caring, be VT, be more involved in politics be VT, Be better doctors, lawyers, teacher, be the very best and u will carry the touch for those who no longer can. God Bless VT

  • amazing speech. god bless virginia tech and the families who have lost in this tragedy

  • thoughts and prayers from england

im not a very emotional person. but when i first6 saw this on TV and read about it in the papers i had to fight back the tears. such a complete waste of life. words fail me

god bless VT and all the people who lost their lives in this selfish act.

    Alex

  • Beautiful video, may they rest in piece.

  • God Bless you all.. Ya'll are in my prayer

  • Because this can't happen again, that was a tragedy. I'm from Spain and i'm with yours. Here we can't understand why in EE.UU is permitted the guns's law and that everybody who wants can buy a gun. That's a problem, but this is the real life. Here we hope that this will be a start of and end. (sorry my bad english)

  • I think gun control is the answer too. I think it's not right that every psychopath can have one or two guns (or other kinds of weapon) so easly. It's not right that every joung boy depressed can use a weapon (columbine and other are the example). Only with gun control we could limit the problem... because mad people are everywhere.

  • Gun control is NOT the answer. This freak would have figured some other way to do what he did (a car, a bomb, a knife). God Bless You All!!

  • Gun control is the answer. Someone with a knife would have been disarmed, a bomb is even harder for a normal person to create and do harm with, and a car won't do much of anything. Sorry your argument doesn't work.

  • God bless Virgia Tech,,,

  • God bless you all

  • god bless Virginia Tech.

  • Oh, please don't lose the perspective

I was heavily bullied at school, because i was shy and unconventional...since then, i had to deal with depression and self esteem problems, but i'm overcoming that :). I was hurt and mad at my classmates, but i never wished really bad things to happen them, nor made any plans to hurt them, that's just plain sick.

  • That guy was just a psychopath trying to victimize himself...even worse, he is trying to pass himself as a hero, as a martyr. Sure, his life was pretty sad, but -please- don't buy his looney nonsense. My heart is with the *real* victims and with their families/friends

  • i agree with you everyone goes thru this. You must understand, that some people need more help than others and it is up to people to voice up and do something.I feel horribly bad about what happened. It hurts, but ya know what things wont change.Untill there is more gun control, more security and most of all being understood. The song playing in the video is by Knarls Barkley.

  • It's just on another level, and you were able to overcome it. He wasn't.

  • I'm very fotunate that none of my friends who atten VT were hurt. The victims and their family and friends are in my thoughts. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE SONG THAT WAS PLAY DURING THE VIDEO? It was beautiful!

  • 'if anyone cared' by nickleback

  • to all of virginia tech, God bless each and every one of you

  • Amen. Thank you for posting this video. God bless you Hokies. We all are with you.

  • This was beautiful video. I am so sorry for what has happened to all of these wonderful people. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone..even the killer's family. May God Give You All Strength to carry on with heads held high!

  • racism has grown even more in the past few years

  • This event has touched me in so many ways. Leslie Sherman, whom i went to HS with, was a victim. My brother graduated from there a year ago and still lives down there had a good friend was fortunately only wounded. We(ECU) open up our football season at VA Tech next year and right now thousands if not seriously all of us down here are working getting some kind of shirt produced for that game to show our support. con't

  • I know it is still a long ways away but but we feel that is a start to show our support, and the proceeds either go to VA Tech or a fundation for the familys of the victims. I've always wanted to go to tech and wanted to transfer there freshman year but ECU grew on me. I will always have some hokie in me.

    RIP Leslie Sherman

  • God bless Virginia Tech

  • Just goes to show...bullying, name calling, making fun of and ridiculing someone already thought of as "weird" and having had psychiatric treatment in the past isn't such a good idea. Have we learned nothing from Columbine?

  • dont be like, man thats wrong ur messed up er anything but its sounds like a rap a 7:41 its awesome!

  • you can not live for yesterday whats done is done none of this will bring anybody back so lets just leave it alone all ready

  • its so sad! that guy waz just plain crazy!

  • it is time to put armed guards inside buildings at all colleges. new reality.

  • Allah yerhamik ya Reema and we are so so sorry this had to happen you or the other greatful victims. Reema wallah I wish that I would have known you much earlier because you are a ray of light and your smile is so beautiful and unique.

from Jarear saad a Lebanese Canadian from Edmonton Alberta

  • *its time to move on, its been a week. stop talking about it on tv nonstop. they did the same thing with 9/11. the police are to blame for this, if they'd have been there to protect the students this wouldnt have happened*

How can you say such a thing? I guess you've never lost something? If you had experienced you've had known that it takes a long time to accept. And yu really never get over the loss. So don't say such things.

  • that is not true, this is a tragic accident and we, as Americans, can not just "move on"

  • This is really serious. It's a major deal and it will take some time.

  • rip.... sorry 4 ur losses

  • WELL SAID killyislovely!!!! i agree! I THINK this vid was amazeing it made me cry beacuse all the inocent people and ther all so young!!! how would u like to just get shot for doing nothing!!! people that try and see this tragity and say these things shold just shut up beacuse IF YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY THEN SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!! im done!

  • go you!*pats on back and gives you a cookie* people need to keep nasty comments to themselves!

  • I Don't Think We Need To Be Worried About The Killer, What About The Victims?

  • its time to move on, its been a week. stop talking about it on tv nonstop. they did the same thing with 9/11. the police are to blame for this, if they'd have been there to protect the students this wouldnt have happened.

  • hey this is a big deal and don't go blaming it on the police how would they no anything about it when it happened its also probably something the news would be talking about for another week or two so deal with it

  • Everyone seems to be forgetting the real issue..32 people died on that fateful day, their lives were taken from them so untimely and in the cruelest way, much like what happens everyday in every country, we all know what it feels like to lose someone. So stop argueing over the cause of the massacre and pray for the victims and their loved ones.War, murder, massacres their all caused by arguements, fights. Let it go and pay your respects.

  • Well Said. :[

  • Treat everyone well around and be respectful, to give more for those who care. Let's pary for those who lost their love ones and people of Virginia Tech.

  • what happened should be a learning process to all, Cho was weak, weak to accept what others did to him. Some people believe they are strong, strong enough to bully other people especially those who are different. Cho was different, He choses to do this to send a message. Yes Cho was to blame, but do not forget to understand his message for this might happen again in the future.

  • you cannot blame police, they were there trying to stop him.....you can only blame one person and that was the man who did it...this is exactly what he wanted to happen, he wanted our society to become corrupt because we are blaming the wrong people...you guys have to understand that no one is to blame but the man who did it...now the fact that the police waited, that is a totally different story, but all this fighting only helps this guy because thats what he wanted..

  • You guys do realize this is exactly what this guy wanted to happen....he wanted everyone to fight and fight over this shit so we can look for someone to blame...we are looking more into detail on who is to blame....

  • :( *sniff sniff*

  • I wish folks would quit jumping on this as a reason to bear arms. I will never want me or any in my family to own one. NO MATTER WHAT.

  • My prayers go out to the wounded victims and the family of the 32 dead. Deepest condolences. Hope the hurting will alleviate soon and healing process begin.

  • A genuine tragedy, thoughts with everyone effected by it. Surely there is a moral responsibility to remove, as far as is possible, the ability for people to commit this kind of act. Gun laws must change.

  • umm, i saw videos on cbs where people talk about living in the dorm with him, so you are incorrect.

  • well it turned out those virginia tech people got blown away because they wouldnt stop picking on the guy. well maybe it will teach them to treat people nicer.

  • None of the victims even knew him. Get your facts before making yourself look like a moron.

  • Yup, they must have really insulted the person so much. I think, as far as changing the Gun law, they have to change first the way they treat other people or I am sure this will happen again.

  • Not true.

  • You're clueless robby. He was picked on his entire life, that was the problem.

  • That was awesome that everyone camed together in a time like this. I recorded a video as a tribute to all the victims and their families. My prayers are with you. I hope you all enjoy the sing. It truly was from the bottom of my heart.

  • it was a great video but jesus u could of picked a differant song! r.i.p god bless

  • I disagree, I think the song fits perfectly.

  • i agree with you; the songcouldn't have been better. and for whatever merit someone can give in a position that they don't know what the victims are feeling...i am truely sorry and even though i cannot change what happened, i still pray for the lost souls and that it will never happen again. thank you for posting this video, it truely tore at my heart. may the Guiding One, whether he be God or not to you, carry at least some of the sorrow.

    Chibi-Tala

  • Thank you. :)

  • Thinking and praying for all the VT victims, from Scotland. (I stay 20kms from Dunblane). A horrible thing to happen to any community. God Bless. Regards. V

  • This is amazing.

    You did a great thing.

    RIP victims.

  • could have picked a better song half way through... wasn't very appropriate, but i like the video.

  • Thanks for the opinion.

  • this video brought tears she is a great speaker and my prayers go out to the victoms god bless v.t.

  • This video is so moving. It brought me to tears.

  • Rest In Peace. You are all children of God and he has called you home."Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning" Psalms 30:55

  • Amen!

  • The speech was totally impressive and moving.

  • this was a very beautiful video and i feel very sad for the victims familys and friends ect R.I.P GOD BLESS

  • my best friend gabe perez was related to daniel cuave perez. i have known him for 4 years. i find it hard to believe that hes gone. but i feel obliged and happy to know that the killer is dead. thats a horrible thing to say ; i know. gabe hasnt been in school since it happened. and i know what pain he's going through. my brother died in a tradegy as well. nobody does deserve it . this video brought tears to my eyes but i thank you.

  • VT is most certainly in my heart, thoughts, and prayers. It was a horrible thing, what happened.

  • God bless all the victims.

  • My sister goes to VT and my whole family has been in shock when we heard the news. Her two best friends were killed along with other classmates. This video really shows how horrible VT has suffered.

  • to Virginia Tech... our deepest condolences, thoughts n prayer... those who survive may u be strong... for those fallen R.I.P... love from Moscow Medical Academy...

  • My thoughts and prayers are with you I live in Charlottesville Va Today and always I hope I can stand as proud and with undefeatable courage as Virginia Tech has this week Be strong my friends be proud be Hookies

  • This video is beautiful. Showing people coming together for a caught...but like friendly warrior says...down with violence....on both sides....in this case the tech shooter and those who bullied him, because those who get bullied get away with it and wonder why this guy did the things he did. Hey Aedak33, good video

  • To my knowledge, no one at VT bullied Cho. In fact, his roommates repeatedly tried to get him to go out to dinner with them, go to parties, etc.

  • Tragically Beautiful video. Though we may be half way across the state from Virginia Tech everyone here at Hawkeye Community College also sends their love and support.

  • Beautiful video! My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to Virginia Tech! Everyone here at the University of Toledo sends their love and support!

  • down with violence! Down with sale of fire arms! Peace between nations and love among every race in the world!

  • Vi conviene il secondo emendamento?? Is the second emendament worthy to you?? don't think so..

  • I am a student too so i know these kids, these young people who ve been so tragically lost were, are, just like me and my friends. They were not only future of Virginia or American but they were world's future!

Enough sorries n condolences have been made so there is nothing much tht i can say except that I, my family n friends share this sadness!

May god rest the souls of these unfortunate people!

  • Jeffrey Dahmer: White american raped, murdered and consumed 17 victims.. Harris, Dylan Klebold: 2 White kids who fatally shot 12 students at a high school. Henry Lee Lucas: White American confessed to more than 350 murders including his own mother. Timothy Mcveigh: White American who blew up the fed building killing 168 lives including many women and babies. To those racist posters, mentall illness knows no color, stop being hypocrites.

  • stay strong virginia tech.... yes, you will prevail.

  • I'm sorry. Don't know what else to say. I had to say something, though.

  • Very well done. All too many affected. M thoughts and prayers are with the families, injured, and the students and staff left with emptiness of those they lost.

  • Very touching such a horible time

  • Why doesn't everyone just stop arguing and making arogant statements and just give respect to those victims. Your not proving anything.

  • oh my god this is really sad i hope it will never happen again.Bless yall

  • i am only 11 years old but i am very sad for the students at virginia tech.i used to live in virginia and many people that i kno..go to virginia tech. this is a sad video and a sad situation and it's nice to kno that person who posted this video on you tube [and all of the other ones] care about this so much.

  • A very sad event. RIP. I do think this could of been avoided if the gun laws weren't so stupid.

  • It's so sad.

i was thinking about it 2day in school

how unfair is the world that human build.

  • great video. I think you really caught the true emotions of Virginia tech. Not letting those news reports show the emotion they can't even imagine.

  • Our hearts here from Waynesboro, VA go out to all those at Virginia Tech and families of the fallen.

  • Beautiful. It's amazing how many people can come together and light the world like that. I wish i'd been there.

  • I'd say almost all of them were Tech students, we are after all, a campus of about 25,000.

  • GOD bless each and every soul affected by these tragic events. We ALL mourn with you. R.I.P.+

  • Beautiful job on the vid...rip all from Va tech...and also to those of columbine...today is the anniversary....all of you will truly be missed.
