  • How much damage did they do to your home

  • this is so cute this is how my racoon thAT I NAMED PANDA IS LIKE AND SO ARE HER 3 SIBLINGS

  • that's very rare that something like ever happen. raccoons are normally very food aggresive and territorial.

  • @TheRunnerShow I couldn't agree with you more!!!

  • I have a little one outside that likes to visit. After 3 days, he was sitting on my lap and eating oreos. If you don't do anything to scare them or hurt them, they will not hurt you. They are the sweetest animals ever and very playful.

  • @crackerwv Awwwwwww eatin oreos!! How cute!

  • thats where gothics got their makeup ideas from.....

  • That is so cool that goes to show the racoons are intellgent and can adept to life with people

  • Thanks for noticing! Yes!

  • aww she's so hungry its nice you fed her i think i have a raccoon in my chimney and im so scared your brave lol

  • LOL I was quite alarmed by her at first. But she seemed more relaxed about it than I was!! So it calmed me down.

  • haha its funny to hear her make the crunchy noises when she eats lol

I can never do that not even with the crunchiest of things

  • Haha, try to eat with an open mouth lol

    You should hear my hedgehog!!!

  • Ahh I see. Yeah he/she just started going off about how I shouldnt feed her. It's done! LOL She's fine!!

But I only got like 2 msgs because I hit a nerve,

  • Oh I gotcha, you weren't speaking to me....LOL

    What the heck happened?

  • What the hell are you talking about????

  • You're very kind:-)

  • I loves racoons hands!!! muchisimo lots

  • LOL I understand you feel YOU are helping, but it's completely unwise to go around wagging your finger at people without asking questions. She's not an idiot, nor am I. I live in the city, raccoons are everywhere. She lived in our chimney before I even moved there and lived for many after I left. We fed her once in a while and we watched her teach her young how to hunt. In future, ask questions or read the previous comments before telling one what's best.

  • she's gonna be breakin' in for those things!

  • LOL youd think so but no.

  • Oh wow, that is so amazing! I never got that close to a racoon before! The ones where I live are kind of shy, but I only got to meet one up close once!

  • Gosh, I live in France and I never seen a racoon in my whole life, they are my favorite animals. It's so cute :'-)

    Thanks for posting

  • Ah merci!

Où en France vivez-vous ? J'adore la Loire Valley!!

  • A Strasbourg. Dans l'Est, à la frontière de l'Allemagne. Je ne connais pas bien la Loire et Vallée...

Vous y allez en été ?

Faites-nous encore des vidéos de ratons ils sont trop mignons ^^

    Salut !

  • I went 4 years ago a Paris et Tours. Cette une bonne voyage!! Stasbourg, fortuné vous! La France me manque beaucoup. : (

I was thinking of visiting Germany this year and I want to see France again too. Strasbourg would be a lovely mix Im sure!!

    Merci pour les beaux commentaires!!

  • this video is awesome!! at first i thought you were kind of insane for hand-feeding a wild raccoon (rabies?!) but you have obviously proved me wrong. what an adorable, smart animal! i could listen to that crunching all day. :) had no idea they could be that friendly/bold!

p.s. this is hilary---you made a very sweet comment about my video of my hedgehog.

  • hahaha no Im very sane. Thanks for your compliments.

  • cute

  • OMG That's so awesome!

  • Thanks for commenting!

  • Hate to sound negative but... do you really think it's a good idea to be feeding these animals, not to mention the food you are giving them is processed and probably not good for their health.

Here, we are not s'posed to feed native animals as they only become dependent upon you and lose their incentive to get their own food.

Over time, if anything should happen to you, eg. if you have to move or if you go away on holidays, their food source disappears along with you.

    Loved the video btw ;)

  • They haven't become dependent on us. We don't feed them all the time. We've seen them fend for themselves many a time. They've grown up and are big and healthy. Its been a year after I made this vid and they have moved away from us despite us giving them food.

Also, about the processed food.....raccoons eat out of the garbage just about everyday. I appreciate your concern, but they're quite okay. Thanks for your compliments though.

  • IM IN LOVE WITH THIS she LOOOVVVEEESSS galric crutons LOL

  • Haha yeah me too. Thanks for watching! :)

  • Haha yeah they're one of mine too. She's very smart and non-threatening. She's been known to tap me on the shoulder to get me to pay attention to her. She then puts out two hands like some lowly pauper asking for food. LOL

  • How did you go about befriending her? This is amazing. My cousin used to have a pet racoon who was so snuggly. But he would always try to climb up people's pant legs, lol. Anyways, she's absolutely adorable! What a wonderful friend!! Glad to see another animal lover.

  • Haha was he little when your cous found him/her? I don't think they're legal here as pets (Toronto, Canada). I dont know, this is the 3rd litter she's had in our chimney and they always would walk by our kitchen down the stairs/fire escape, and the first I had the pleasure of meeting. When the babies first came to our window they were as big as our palm and climbed right in. Thanks for supporting me on that Alec Baldwin vid. It's sickening how many people turn a blind eye to this shit.

  • AWW! Palm-sized racoon babies!!! I can't remember if my cousin's racoon was a baby or not, I didn't meet him until he was bigger. Anyways, thanks for supporting ME. That cheergirl or whatever her name was, she was driving me INSANE. And the people who raise their kids like that are just creating future parents who will treat THEIR children like that. On and on in a vicious, abusive cycle. The world's definitely going to shit...

  • Hahah yeah, they'd climb into our hands because they were only two weeks old and didn't know better. They would gently nibble on our fingers. We started to put a bowl of water out and they'd automatically sit in it LOL. They're bum would be JUST outside the rim sitting on it...

  • LOL! That is too funny! So you befriended the babies first and the mom just kinda followed suit? Or was it the babies' babies?

  • Nope, Mum first. We didnt see her for a month, then finally came by, her fur was sparse and not looking so healthy...we found out why a minute later...soon 5 babies followed. But she had to carry each one because they couldn't climb one stair even! we have the vid of it that hasnt been uploaded.

  • I can't wait to see that one!!!!

  • Hahaha the reason I didn't put it up was because I shot it at night with my MacBook, which doesn't even have a light! So, you can barely see em. You can just hear our shocked voices and 5 furry silhouettes LOL

  • Aww, that's a bummer, I bet it was so cute. Racoons are one of my favorite animals, I love their little masks. = ]

  • so great that you feed her, thanks for your compassion. peace

  • AN informative video for those who watch it, but brave to get so close.

  • Haha very true! But it took some time to get to know Sweet Pea, or rather, for her to get to know me.The day I knew we were friends was...sometime in summer. I was sitting by the window with her next to me, I turned my back to talk to my roomie. She tapped me on the shoulder. I turned to look at her and she had her two palms open. Not one ounce of malice in her.

  • She's adorable. :)

  • Yes, she is, isnt she?

  • Yeah, raccoons eat garbage for cryin out loud LOL. Anyways, she has switched onto cookies and bananas, so we're golden. She has come by with 5 babies recently. They too, enjoy a good cookie.

  • They also like cheerios - it's very fun to watch them paw around in water for them!

  • I agree. You should see her babies!! grabby grabby!!! LOL

  • I can imagine! :) I need to do a vid soon of the coons trying to get cheerios and almonds out of the water tray - I've got a small water tray that fits one coon kit at a time, and I've got the larger one that can fit the entire family in! The best shots come towards the end of the night (where there's little food left) and they keep pawing around the sides of the inside of the pan for any little bit that's left!

  • She is a cutie!

  • Hello. If you are going to feed her anything, please don't feed her anything with garlic or onions. Its not good for most animals and could kill her. They love eggs(cooked and raw),peanuts, marshmallows, chicken,a little cat food, but not garlic or onions. Cheers

  • She doesnt seem to have an issue with the garlic seasoned croutons. She eats nothing else and wont touch the items you mentioned.

  • I'm sure she likes it. But she should not eat garlic, onions or any member of the Allium species of plants. And if she is nursing it can ruin her milk too and kill the babies. Please dont feed her Garlic! She doesn't know it can kill her and her young. Try tuna or some kind of fish.

  • Where did you learn about this?

  • I'm skeptic if this is correct. I've never read anything about onions being harmful to raccoons. There are many kinds of food like raisins which are poisonous to dogs and other animals but not to raccoons who are omnivors like humans. On the other hand, one shouldn't feed them cat food in large quantities over a long period of time (according to raccoon expert MD Bernhard Böer) and marshmallows are bad for their teeth. You could try grapes, bananas and dog food. Almost all raccoons like these.
