  • You are right, we missed Disney hand drawn animation. I grow up in the 90 and I watched all the Renascence films along with re realized Classics, and having seem such gems, and even if Im too old for cartoons, I couldn't help but loving this movie for being triumphant return to their traditional roots.

  • This movie was great. But one scene made me bawl. (I don't want to say what it is, in respect for those who haven't seen it)

  • This film was good [thanks to the hand-drawn animation] but god the songs were so annoying in this[sorry but Tangled wins my vote].

  • Thumbs up for Princess and the Frog 2.

  • I love this show, expect for 1 tiny problem, since this is a kids film, this film is a bit dark, u knw with the voodoo stuff, but i do like dark movies XD

  • @MegaKazz5005 Disney's been adding dark tones to their films for a long while. I mean look at the song Hellfire, listen to the lyrics closely and you'll see what I mean. If this doesn't satisfy you just keep looking a classic Disney films. In Lion King look at Be Prepared and how the Hyenas march.

  • @MySniffle yeh true, but i heard this movie had some complents from those regilous people about how they done the voodoo stuff as part of the plot and about how this film contains some horror elements which might scare kids

  • @MegaKazz5005 Interesting, even as a little kid I wasn't scared by this stuff. In fact I was fansinacted(sorry for spelling errors) by it. Which is probably why I'm writing some books with it. Anyway people really complained about voodoo. I guess I'm lucky to have parents who don't care about stuff like voodoo, or death.

  • @MySniffle yeh, i seen other dark things in disney before anyway, one of the darkest disney films i seen was the hunchback of notre dame, and they didnt get any complaints, plus i dont knw if its true, but isn't the princess and the frog like the first princess movie to have dark elements

  • @MegaKazz5005 I don't know, maybe it's just me. I don't really see the dark elements with in this movie. Chances are though it's not the only princess movie to have dark elements but those are probably outside of Disney.

  • I love Ray's "Going down the bayou" it's Louisiana Zydaco.it's bouncy, catchy, and fun to dance to. and I did. ^_^. but "Dig a little deeper" is fun to dance to also.

  • I think the movie has a lot of problems - many scenes which feel like fillers, a very choppy ending, and who the heck thought that it would be a good idea to combine the longing tunes of "Evangeline" with two bickering and dancing Frogs? The main message of the movie gets subverted a couple of times, and both main leads are not really likable. It's not a bad movie, and I'm glad that hadn-drawn animation is back, but Disney can do better than this.

  • @swanpride I disagree.

  • All non-caucasian Disney characters have brown eyes, don't they. Except for Esmeralda and Kida of course.

  • welcome back disney indeed :D

  • 1 person was turned into a frog by dr faciler

  • great Movie Review

  • that it says that

  • lol put titles on and it says blacks are wants

  • @iwillmotforget Racist!

  • @Hewylewis its not my fault

  • @iwillmotforget Dude, What the fuck!

  • Jim Cummings... the man is a gift to animated film.

  • Yes five gold stars, I love you (as a matter of speech).

  • When I saw this movie, I said one thing: DISNEY IS BACK! :D

  • You are greatly amusing, I fully enjoyed the review.

  • I play the trumpet, and I gotta say, Louis' got skills!

  • That's nice!

  • I HIGHLY recommend this movie to everyone, it was just so stinkin' good. I can never get enough of the Shadow Man's song, I especially love the reprise

  • I haven't actually seen this movie yet, but it looks good. I'm usually not the first one to say: "Hey! Lets go see a princess movie!"

Because I'm not really that kind of person xD But, I'm really glad to see disney animate again and I hope that they stay this time.

  • This is a brilliant movie, I managed to watch it free in HD here: watchmovies4free {.} org

  • Sensational review, and I must say next to TLK, PATF is quite possibly my favorite Disney movie *ever* !

  • Very nice. This film is number 1 in the box office right now. who doesn't want to go see it?

  • Nice Review

I'm extatic as fuck for this film (have been since I heard about it in 07). The first hand drawn movie by disney since the early 2000s, the first African American Princess, and almost every reason in between. I want to see this film, but I'm almost 20 and I don't wanna see it by myself

  • I'm 20 and went to see it with my 16-year-old sister, who cares what people think? Although if you are embarrassed maybe you could go to a later showing?

  • I hope that this is the direction Disney has for the tennies (next decade). The way I see it, CGI has been overdone for what it is, and to tell you the truth it's not new anymore.

I'm glad that older forms of animation are making a comeback, and this movie looks awesome.

  • Agreed. History is repeating itself. And I couldn't be happier.

  • True but still I know you're doing the CGI Christmas Carol movie next but still would you agree it would be a moot point not to spoil it because if anyone has read the book, or watched certain adaptations of it (i.e. 1984 with George C. Scott, the muppets version with Michael Caine in 1992, or the made for television TNT owned version with Patrick Stewart as Scrooge from 1999) you know how it ends.

  • @jconifer7 i hope so two just saying old alan is doing the msuic to Repunzel soo new rebrith here we come?

  • Let us hope. He'll also be doing The Snow Queen too.

  • Good review. Need I say more.

  • disneys next animated feature, rapunzel, is gonna be all cg

  • @varelabro1 But from what I saw the CG looks somewhat like hand drawn animation.

  • @varelabro1 they decided to rename Rapunzel, "Tangled". Ugh.

  • I wish we in Britain didn't have to wait until the 5th of February to see this. Still, your review has given me a lot to look forward to, so... Hell, I can wait!

  • I'm going to see this with my boyfriend on saturday.

  • I'm rather conflicted this year over what is the best animated fim......because there was a literal glut of them. Coraline, Princess and the Frog, Ponyo, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Fantastic Mister Fox; heck even the not as good ones like 9 weren't terrible. With the oscars I'm thinking it could go three ways; this one because it's disney doing hand drawn again, ponyo since it might be miyazaki's last, or FMF given who the cast is and the different animation style

  • I wonder if good Disney will stay or run away again.

  • I was actually silently singing along in my seat to "Gonna Take You There"

  • I was expecting a full rating. Nice to see Disney make their return.

  • Interesting, Jim Cummings played someone with a cajun accent before, and it was an alligator. Leatherhead of the classic Ninja Turtles.

In general, I find cajun accents very interesting and cool to listen to. There aren't enough great cajun characters... except maybe Gambit.

  • Great Review-I might see that movie.

  • @tmnt2105 I recommend it too, it was GREAT! I'm seeing it again soon ^_^
