Hey, I have a question. Teddy says to not play on a non bounce sort of surface because you will hurt yourself, and just use a practice bad. I've heard sooo many drummers suggest to play on a pillow or what not(even jo jo mayor). Does anyone have any wisdom on it?
@Zildjian232 tony royster uses pillows. i guess its just preference, bcos many other great drummers find pillows helpful. Ive been playing drums for a while, and i think the best way to practice speed is on a snare drum. so jus do what feels right to u.
He's definitely right about ball tip sticks but the problem is that I just love the size and weight of Vic Firth SD2 Bolero sticks and I haven't been able to find a good matching pair of sticks without a ball tip for me!
@Drummerstefen Ive seen him live before he was using a zildjian k custom 20 inch hybrid ride. Thats def. what it looks like here too. I have one and im selling mine. Get at me if your interested in it. Peace.
I really like Teddy Campbell's playing because he uses really good technique. He doesn't just smash like a lot of other drummers. His strokes are controlled and elegant. HE'S A BEAST!!!
Teddy is bad,he dont do just one gospel fill through the whole song,he grooves and breaks it up,alot of drummers play that most popular gospel lick, doga doooga doga doooga doooga doga, over and over kinda boring.
dude i agree, like i love gerald heyward, but u know when gerald plays i know what hes gonna do, but what i like about teddy, u dont know what hes gonna do, i like to be caught off guard with drummers and teddy does that
What's with that porno music in the background?

His sticks are odd. They are .610 girth, but are heavier than Pro Mark's 2B sticks, which are .630. I didn't understand how that happened.

YES!!!!
I agree 100%
Gospel cats can be so predictable that you don't learn a thing from "Sheds"
Chris Dave,Teddy Campbell,Eddie Heyward, Jeremy Haynes and their influences are the cats I can't stop listening to right now.....
