I'm thinking of selling my brand new 550d + kit lens to buy a 40d + an L lens or a few lenses, do you think this is a good idea? The 550d feels too plastic-y and small for me, and i have no real need for HD video.. do you think its a good idea?? Thanks :)
You will learn very quickly. 40D is better 50D. If you want to hold on the body for long time, then save money to buy L lens. I don't like ef-s lens, loose value after time passed.

It's nice, but I usually recommend the Canon Rebel to beginners.

Looks like I'm leaning more towards the XSI. Its priced better and can still take amazing photos. ;D

I was surprised that the canon xsi and 40d took almost the same quality shots. I decided to go with the xsi and save some cash for lenses.
