  • Scooters are stupid... skateboards all day anyday

  • I watched because it said skatepark, then saw a kid on a razor. FAIL

  • This is really cool, I was first attracted to your 2 camera setup. I have a Canon HF20 which is pretty good for size, takes amazing HD stuff. I want to buy another and shoot 3d videos, not particullary for YouTube. Thanks for your info, enjoyed it. Wolfie

  • The only thing 3D is the side panels that are black!

  • Looks great, I'm quite blown away. The magenta/green worked perfectly for me, and in b/w its almost flawless. Really great. I would love to get out and try this. I need another Kodak Zi8, I assume it would work with whatever camera device you use.

Also, was there a particular stereo plugin to combine the left/right images? It looks like you were using Premier, is this correct? I couldnt tell much about your post process beyond the vertical alignment

    cheers

  • you suck this is red and blue not 3d ftard

  • @muffinsack11 awh silly youtuber, it depends on which 3d method you view it with, please get your facts right before you blatantly insult people, theeeeeeenks :3

  • you suck

  • doesnt work witch a 3d glasses

  • Too much separation.

  • @DavidXG360 no its not. i can go at least twice this far.

  • i used my 3d glasses and its not 3b this is bullshit

  • @TheJonathan180 u need red and blue glasses then (not the type used in cinemas)

  • is it me or does the video needs deinterlacing lol.

  • @LowDetailGaming This was a rough test of a new tube concept, your right it needs a tidy up in more ways than one.

  • @LowDetailGaming I think many viewers fail to see this is a trial 3D video, youtube did ask us to go out and make 3D videos, some did.

  • very good i'll try to make some 3d films

  • wish i had 3d glasses

  • @nx2overide you dont need 3d gasses, just cross your eyes until you se clear picture on the center :)

  • only works for the simple red/blue 3D glasses. Real3D glasses do not show in 3D.

  • Will it work if i have 3D glasses? i mean with any screen i'd use

  • it doesnt work

  • my advise is get some 3D glasses, works for every one else who has glasses!

  • I am sorry, I will give you a full refund.

  • @leokimvideo LOL

  • damm i dont have 3d glasses!!! LOL!!

  • wow cool

  • Whenever I upload a video it's only half of the screen please help!!!

  • @Lego3DCinema

You have to use the 2-camera-crossing method, not only one video...

  • Yes, having the proper aspect ratio is VERY important.

Stretched or squashed video looks horrible -- whether it's stereoscopic or not. I am SO tired of finding videos on YouTube that are stretched or squashed in one dimension.

Thank you for -- unlike many people -- having the sense to make your video NOT stretched in one dimension and NOT squashed in one dimension.

  • Also the more details, the better the 3D. So Wireframe things, imagery with a texture, etc.. I think good subject material would be to do a 3D walkthrough of a musuem with sculptures and silver trays and such.. I found such subject material at a popular musuem in LA.. Forget the name.

Also overcast days are better for capturing things like flowers in 3D.. It's because the high contrast of a sun lit subject can hide the details that permit the brain to make sense of the imagery.

  • Part of the effect of 3D is something your brain does, if you take a 3D photo, and aim both cameras inward at the material, say a small child sitting on a brick fireplace bench, you could have a complete mismatch between the two photos but your brain will fill in the missing information, it will actually warp the bricks to match. So the accurate perception of 3D imagery is dependent on the capability of the observers brain to match and make sense of the two photos.

  • The only problem with 3D is you can't zoom in on yoru subject material, unless you did things with computer animation, because to zoom in you have to adjust the distance between the cameras to get a perception of 3D, otherwise the space will be flattened.

All you need to do 3D is two cameras placed in parallel to each other. The shorter the distance, the more you can focus on small things, the longer, the more you can see big things in 3D. I do experimental 3D photography that's how I know.

  • i think you may have your cameras too far apart...creating 3D films can be tricky i think the study of it is called stereography...normally they say to have the cameras 6.5cm apart, with this the images dont connet naturally and cause too much strain on the eyes even with glasses so some adjustment is needed :S but still a good video and watchable

  • what am i suposed to be doing

  • good video man.

  • holy shit somethins fukin wrong wit my eyes now

  • Anyway it works!

  • If you're doing it cross-eyed, don't try to focus your eyes yourself. Just line up your eyes up, play the video, and just try to watch it. Give it a few seconds. Your eyes will adjust and focus themselves.

  • u need 3d glasses. & u can get software that makes video in 2 3d

  • There is diff settings

  • not 3d attt all

  • this is the best 3d on youtube i have seen

  • i have to do cross eyed, but it always looks blurry, im not sure if this is because i have glasses (i try it with them on and off) or because my eye muscles are weak?

  • I have only red / green glases :-(

  • Green and magenta.

  • Fascinating, I had to dig up an old 3D comic so I could find the glasses LOL But the effect worked very well, this was great fun to watch!

  • take a finger and look at it, then you slowly take it towards your nose

  • Thanks to FlippyCat for his advice when the 3D drop down box disappears.

He has a great #D example cooking away on his page.

  • Looks like I have lost my 3D drop down list, let's hope it comes back, this was a beta trial.

  • You did some very good job, congratulations the 3D effect now looks perfect.

I hope to see more 3D videos from you.

  • This is a very interesting video, much potential in this. I notice you did one for a mad bomber trailer Leo, was that setup the same as this one (i.e two cameras 10mm apart?)

  • Interesting, Love it!

  • That was awesome. I hope you share more videos in 3d this made are night hear. I hope you have a great night and I hope you have the best Sunday ever. God bless you and your family.

  • nice 3d!!

  • Looks like a waste of time!! If thats the technology of it all I hope it fails!!

  • nice test you got it down right. I think for the Canon XL1 they had a 3D lense :)

  • I agree with BeanMeister22 - you did a great job.

  • This is very early days for what I believe will transform youtube into something very special.

  • I do agree. YouTube has been changing a lot of things for the better and worse, but more of the better, like this.

  • Looks much better full screen, but seems a little bit stretched east/west.

  • Hi OzPix, there was a bit of a re-alignment going on in post as my camera alignment up and down was a little off, I think I have enough info now to build a more robust camera mounting rig.

  • i don't have 3d glasses...

  • This is amazing work you did here Leo.

  • I'm enjoying this in 1-D..

  • It's killing me...it's 4am here and I can't stop until I have sorted this out.

Getting info on this is really tricky.

  • If I had a dollar for every 3D attempt I would be a wealthy man by now..

  • 2d, 1d would be a line...

  • 2D, or not 2D.. That is the question..
