the 1st call u did on the bosuns whistle is mess call, my uncle was in the navy and taught me that call, and my grandfather was ww2 navy, and i have a ww2 whistle 2

@getsmartpaul I have seen every TNG episode about 25 times, and this is my LEAST favorite one, not because of the music, or because the acting was bad or anything, but because it freaking depressed me. I love the flute piece though, and always love playing it. Thanks.

That first tune on the pussers whistle was Piping th Side which was done as an Officer came aboard I know as I spent enough time as a watchkeeper in the Royal Navy Piping the Side.

I don't know why people are saying it can't be played. The song actually exists and was played on a D whistile. @_@ The pipe in the show could NOT play though, but it sold for like 46k at the Cristie's auction.

it is an Oak whistle, key of D. I don't care what anyone says, Oak makes the best whistle, at ANY price. I would not trade my Oak for a $500.00 "masterpiece" made in Ireland, or anyplace.

funny thing is, I am planning a trip to one of 4 places in July, and I suppose I could make another choice to be Russia... I want to see either Greece or Israel, but Russia would be interesting. I just don't speak very much Russian, so I would need time to study a little bit.
