Can someone help me out here - what is the name of the song Charlie made, with Bernard on vocals, with lyrics about a ship coming in? I saw it on a TV show some time in the 90s, and thought it was just beautiful. Does anyone recognise it? I would love to know what CD it's on :)
OOOH... Charlie Watts and Conan Obrian .. my favorite Drummer ever, and my favorite talk show host... you know me sooo well, bestrockintheworld.. thank you kisses right into your heart of hearts.. i am so lucky... ah, yesssss !!!
this is the firt time i see CHARLIE plays something good on drums... i think that's because brushes don't make any loud sound and so he can express better him self.
as a drummer i don't like him, but in this video i can really appreciate the sound of the band.
@giosmrbig completely ignorant comment....have you ever heard charlie's versatile and unique aproach on several tracks from the best stones era...circa 68-74? so ignorant that i bet you havent heard this beat on certain album from that era...and i'm not telling shit cause you subestimated charlie, sure he's not the best out there but thats pointless to say this is the best he has done.....better...difficult and unique beats ive heard from him before this
you are just a CHARLIE'S FANATIC FAN, and i can respect that. if you talking about great approach to drums, you need to find other names, like BUDDY RICH, or PETER ERSKINE, or DAVE WECK, COLAIUTA, TERRY BOZZIO, DENNIS CHAMBERS, i can tell you 1000 NAMES if you want. your comment it's like all the comments of charlie's fan. sorry man, you need more culture if you want to talk about drum approach. sorry man !!
@giosmrbig fan?NO,i like the band & he's not the best,of course all of them are superior in like every way you dipshit...i've just said HE'S NOT THE BEST OT THERE if you haven't noticed, super agree on buddy rich & dude..culture?ask yourself that cause i listen to jazz too,my fav being maiden voyage so(apparently)unlike you i tend to NOTICE little rhythm patterns instantly, these are easily heard on some stones & solo lps AND my fav drummer EVER is Elvin Jones so back off before assuming stuff
@giosmrbig he has done more of this on several stones tracks, i'm pretty sure some "jazz" fans aren't able to apreciate it cause of the rock, punk, country, gospel, pop, blues or whatever charasteristic stones disguise...and even more so on certain stones album back in their heyday in the seventies...even with more swing and jazzy drum approach....if you're not a stones fan then just say it, i dont care, it's cool & i will understand so this conversation would be over i think
