I think this review is great

But I disagree on the comments made on the new Maddie. She is more interesting, but she is more human than the Critic makes her out to be. Yeah, she is more determined, driven, and colder than the Kim Darby version, but i do remember she did have a couple smiles and laughs. Very few, but still a couple

But I guess I can overlook it in the long run

I really like both versions, but rather prefer the remake. I gave the DVD of it to my dad for Father's Day (Neither he nor my mom have seen it yet, but they were hoping to see it).
