I eat a lot of milk and monster cookies every day but only in the morning, then I do one hour of skipping and I go swimming in the evening n my belly is flat, exercise is useless just if done wrongly or not enough
you need to eat 2000 to 2500 healthy calories an you will lose weight. Depriving your self will only make you want to eat in hordes. Its best to eat healthy an exercise then to diet.
@heart79605 maybe for a man not a woman...that would cause someone to gain or at the very least maintain weight. When you work out and are eating healthy you need to take in 1600 or less calories. I just heard that on Dr oz and i also read that in Readers Digest. 1200 to 1600 are the calories a woman needs to be taking in to keep healthy and not gain weight.
nobody can tell you how many calories to eat. 1200-1600 is so arbitrary. your daily calorie needs are unique to you. Your build and how much you exercise are huge factors and if you are working out 3-5 hours a week of moderate exercise you will feel HUNGRY on 1400 calories.
Please watch fat, sick and nearly dead and then read 80/10/10 maybe also China Study, it's all the information you will ever need and you will be set for life.
Calorie counting is not the way. It's the road to misery - and once you've LOST the weight, you'll put it right back on as NO-ONE can continue a calorie-restrictive diet like this for their entire lives. I'd suggest ditching ALL grains and most carbs (esp. sugar) for 30days to see what happens. I lost 40 pounds in 3mths this way, and I ate as much eggs, bacon, chicken, meat and vegetables as I liked. It's great to lose weight, get fit AND never be hungry at the same time. Fun!
@matthk Sounds like a recipe for disease! meats, lean/otherwise, contain a fair amount of unhealthy fat. cholesterol- only in animal products. I ate high protein:cal without looking at my fats/products for a long while, but in the end I think it literally made me sick. Still recovering many months later, but I am eating clean proteins only now(Broccoli(!),Spelt Beans&Lentils) and starting to recover :) meats= hardest thing for you body to digest,u may be putting your body under too much stress.
@jessicalovestheused Thanks Jessica, but that's out-of-date (and universally debunked) info. in fact the saturated fat in meat is not only healthy, it's essential. (interestingly, there are no 'essential' carbohydrates). The fats you need to avoid are trans fats, and vegetable fats like Crisco and sunflower oil etc. are no good at all.
@jessicalovestheused as for the "meat is hard to digest' thing, well, yep, meat is slower to digest but that doesn't mean 'difficult'. Slow digestion is a good thing and animal products are pretty much the only thing our body digests by itself (with its own enzymes) everything else is digested by gut bacteria. So which 'high' proteins you were eating, and which fats?
PS: dietary cholesterol was shown over almost a decaded ago to not affect blood cholesterol.
It depends on how you go about it. When I lost weight, I was on a regular 1400-1500cal a day diet along with exercise. When it came time for me to normalize my diet, I only gained 5lbs which is to be expected especially since I got lazy.
@cicada300 "You can go on a diet and still eat very healthy"
That's my point entirely. 'Diet' is a latin word which means 'way of life'. Short term diets are a road to failure. We should eat well ALL the time and don't need to restrict calories excessively or exercise to extremes to lose weight. I eat really well, I don't fret about calories at all and the only exercise I did was walking for an hour most days - and I lost 20kg. This is now my diet for life - not just a few months.
choice, and start cooking and eating GOOD foods. This is the best advice I can give you. Your body, nor anyone else's was designed to eat processed meals. If it isn't grown, or produced naturally, then don't eat it. Don't get me wrong here. I eat red meat. I eat cheese, I drink milk (whole BTW, none of that 2% bull****). People will sell you these low cal diets, but bottom line is your energy is coming from somewhere...and it isn't your fat stores. Those are safe when you diet this way
First off, congrats. But the fact that you are posting a video at the one month mark means that you felt it was an accomplishment, which means you had to force yourself to do it. The problem here is, how long can you keep this up. I weighed 300 lbs (33% body fat), and am now 220 lbs and 16% body fat. how much did i cut...0. I cut 0 calories from my diet. I take in 2700 - 3000 cals / day. The difference is all of it comes from good whole foods. Lose the weight watchers, lose the healthy
@robsetser youre still fat that wasnt a very happy ending.. im 170 lbs 9% body fat and i say eat plenty of healthy snacks through out the day, a couple good meals, read labels and add up nutrition info. do plenty of research on what your body needs not random bodys need. ps losing fat when youre 300 lbs isnt an accomplishment. you can lose like 20 lbs in a week if you way as much as 2 people should lol.
@superdupersonic Thanks for the backup homey. Some folks really have no clue. "OH...i'm 170 and 9% body fat." And that's not bad for someone that's 5'8" i guess. Unfortunately, we weren't all direct descendants of Napoleon. HAHA. Anyway...thanks again for shedding some knowledge on this dude.
@7Trisanaty7 You really don't have any clue do you? Your arguments actually reiterate exactly what I was saying. My point, which you were trying to argue with, but actually confirmed, was that you shouldn't CUT so much from your diet. It's not healthy, and definitely not sustainable. And some new for you. Losing fat at any weight is not easy. Bye the way I'm 6'1" 220. Bench: 365, Deadlift: 455, Squat 430, and Powerclean 285. So yes, I'm a BIG guy. But not fat...damn smurf.
@berrytic101 I'm pretty sure the 1200 and 1500 limits are net limits, such that when you include the deficit you get from exercise you shouldn't go below 1200. So if your calorie goal is 1200 and your workout burns 300 calories you should eat 1500 to bring you back down to a net of 1200 calories. Because if you eat only 1200 calories and then workout worth 300 calories its the same as eating only 900 calories which is grossly unhealthy.
I didn't watch the video, just wanted to say 1200 calories a day is going to be below your Basal and you're "results" won't last. You're putting your body into starvation mode... You need to eat the correct amount of calories and do some form of exercise/activity to speed up you're metabolism instead of starving your body - Reps 3 PT.
@PersistentProgress No it's not, your Basal by definition is what your body *needs* in order to function for 24 hours excluding any kind of movement or activity i.e. unconscious. You must never go below it or your body will go into starvation mode. You do what you want, it's your body to destroy. I'll enjoy consuming 3000+ calories per day and being just under 10% bodyfat.
@lionelmtb88 If you reached 10% and are very active to have a basal of 3000 then yes you will maintain 10%. But an obese person who who is 30% body fat who wants to get 10% will not get there this way. I know this because this is what I am currently doing and following in the path of others who are in the 5 to 10% Bodyfat range who have done exactly this. Once you get their then you find out through experiment what maintenance is and eat in that range. Below is to lose, above to gain.
@PersistentProgress BTW, this is why so many people struggle with weight loss. There is so much bad information. Try to make as simple as possible anybody who reads this. We are all almost similar. I wouldn't count activity that much in your basal and most of our basal are between 1800 to 2200 (males) 1400 to 1800 (females) you need to eat below these calorie ranges to lose fat. 7000 Less calories per week to lose 2 pounds, or you can go for more. You will also lose excess water, etc.

@Lasurge1982 35 pounds is not healthy in 2 months. At maximum, you shoudl be losing 16 pounds in 2 months. But your losing twice that, meaning you are losing 4-5 pounds a week which is dangerous. Healthy recommended weight loss should be slow and steady at 1-1.5 pounds a week.
@PersistentProgress I've been to many doctors that have told me that. Since us teenagers are still growing, it isn't healthy to do more than 2 pounds a week. If your an adult, fully grown, go ahead, do as much as you want, just don't die losing too much weight to which it destroys your health. Where are you getting your information?
@NDF211Gunner You are making the claim of 2 pounds a week , etc. I am saying that it's ok be as disciplined as you can as long as you can while your body still has fat to use for energy to maximize fat loss. Calories in vs Calories out and when you eat at a deficit your body is going to use fat for energy, and to avoid any muscle loss a little weight training can help.
@NDF211Gunner Using to scary words like "die" or "destroy" is not evidence that your correct it's just you objecting to something your not familiar with. It's takes strong self discipline to do this and people who do it get great results and are much healthier for it.
1200 cal? Wow u need 1500 for basal metabolic rate activities plus 500 for daily activities like moving, cleaning etc.. how do u expect to meet your needs? by forcing those missing calories out of fat stores from hips,legs,etc..?? is this serious? is our body a cash machine for fat?? LoL!!
