you know, youtube is not only for people from the united states... i'm from costa rica and i've posted some videos on the site.... is amazing how people from the united states think they are the center of the world. most americans don't speak a second language because they think there is no need, cause english is the principal language. but for example... i speak 3 languages: spanish, english and french. portugese people can post videos wherever they like

i agree. i'm a young teen in America and i only know English. they don't offer languages or make them mandatory because we are, APPARENTLY, the center of the world. well, we're not. so this summer i am signed up to take a Japanese class because i would like to go to Japan and don't want to be rude or believe they will cater to me. well, they won't! we are so selfish over here. :( such a bad rep for the rest of us like me..

@fungrly10 i am english British born and i love my flag but i understand my language is the primary language and every where iv been they do cater to a certain extent and the english language is mandatory in so many countries i have been but even so i think it ignorant that they should my language jus for me to get by if i choose to travel to thier countries its only right i try to speak as they do!!! I can now speak french, german,spanish,bulgarian and russian though i am fluent in some.

@valuhmusic , I always wanted to speak another language, but it sucks when all the states around you, speak english. (but in places like Europe, their neighbors speak a diffrent one then them (the mother language anyway) I deff. think we all should at LEAST learn one other language. Finally in High school I was excited to learn french, unfortunetly we only learn it for about 2-3 years. I don't think I "dont need another language.(I was born overseas)

I speak Swedish and English fluently, Spanish somewhat fluently and I can converse in czech. Besides, Swedish, Norwegian and Danish is pretty much the same so I can speak those too:)

@valuhmusic i hate americans for many reasons, this included, im from negland and we are taught atleast 2 extra languages from a young age. english isnt even there language, its ENGLISH, not american, even though alot of them call it american. 9/11 is a prime example of how america wants to be the centre of attention. they will even go as far as killing thousonds of innocent civilians just to have the focus on them.
